A bit of a jump on the bandwagon, sycophantic article about the Matildas for a couple of reasons:
1) They would not beat a League One men’s team or perhaps any mens team in Australia
2) Their taliswoman Sam Kerr was just charged in London for racially aggravated assault. If that was Erling Halaand it would be getting a hell of a lot more coverage.
3) They haven’t actually won a World Cup or Olympic gold medal.
I think the whole womens football thing is a bit overblown and will die a slow death over the next few years. It’s boring.

Have the Matildas eclipsed the Socceroos? Whatever you think, Australian football fans are in for some exciting times

Ok, this didn’t age particularly well

What might have been: Socceroos valiant in defeat as missed chances, not Arnold, to blame

that very well may have been the final. I think Korea will go on and win the tournamanet fairly comfortably now. Japan and Australia are out of the way so its all Korea now.

I think the Aussie public need to realise that the Socceroos just aren’t that great. Certainly not world beaters.

Postecoglou’s obviously the most successful manager here but the rest are very average.

That $6 million salary is generous for Muscat in Shanghai, I thought the bubble had blown for Chinese soccer. Not aware of any big or controversial moves to China recently, I thought they were all off to Saudi Arabia now!

It's bigger than Ange - from England to Thailand, there's a rising Aussie coaching influence in world football

interesting factual article. Not sure if any of these will play for Real Madrid but nice to see it runs in the family!

Sons of guns: It's time for the progeny of Australian football's golden generation to start to sparkle in their own right
