Rugby League Immortal Wally Lewis, who played with Ella on the schoolboys tour, called Ella “the best player he had seen in either rugby union or league”.
Other greats such as Michael O’Connor a dual international have said similar. Certainly I think he was the best player I’ve seen. Unfortunately he retired at 25 thanks to Alan Jones

I agree wholeheartedly. I travelled from the Central Coast to the Tahs v Blues game last year. Unlike SFS or Homebush almost impossible to get to by public transport and without doubt the worst stadium for access, facilities & spectator comfort I have been to in over 30 years. North Sydney oval is also primitive but at least it is only a short walk from North Sydney station.
I’ll never go back and neither will my daughter & her husband who had the same experience travelling from Russell Lea for the game a few weeks ago.
