Just another opportunity for the publicity seeking Nathan Brown to con the fans and his club administrators that he can coach.
One win and he’s blowing his horn. There’s a long season ahead and I’m not convinced the Knights will deliver. On paper the Knights look good and should be a force to be reckoned with this season. The only big negative is they still have an inferior coach.
Good coaches aren’t made to sign performance based contracts. good coaches tell the club where to shove it and easily walk into something better.
I don’t like Gallen at all but I’m convinced this is just another Nathan Brown publicity opportunity to big note himself.

Gallen: There was no need for Nathan Brown to bring my name up

I’ve heard there will be a couple of surprise position changes coming out of the Storm this season, but they’re being very tight lipped about it.
Some expect them to drop down the ladder but, like Brisbane, you can never write them off.

Drinkwater steps up with no Slater, but Warriors win NRL trial

Hi Stuart,
Pretty sure it was nrl.com and I think the story title was something like Warriors Arm Wrestle Storm.
I’m not suggesting there’s a anything questionable about your article, quite the opposite, since you give us all a fair account of the pros and cons of both teams.
After having read your article, and keeping in mind your impressions of Scott Drinkwater’s performance, I was rather surprised by the other author’s opinion on his performance. It also mentions one or two others you’ve noted in your piece.
Anyway, thanks for your articles, I’m sure everyone here enjoys them as much as I do.

Interesting! Just read a story on another site about this game. Two totally different reports. Is it more opinion than factual? I’m not saying that’s you Stuart, but I’ll watch the video now to see for myself.
Thanks for the updates last night.

Yeah it wasn’t what you’d call a world class game, fairly ordinary by top level NRL team standards I thought.
NRL final series games a much higher standard.

Roosters reign supreme in World Club Challenge

AE47, have a realistic look at the player lists – Storm and Roosters. Then tell me honestly who has a cap issue.

How many rugby league clubs can fill a stadium with just their own fans?

Well, it doesn’t matter what any of us think now – he was sent home from training yesterday with a “respiratory infection ” and I’d be very surprised if we see him back again until the matter has been settled in court.

Media misfires on NRL crisis

A bilingual anthem would be a bit of a problem for us.
There are something like 250 to 300 odd Aboriginal languages but most are extinct now anyway – although an attempt is being made to reconstruct some.
Unlike the Maori language which is one language with local dialects that still all Maoris can understand, all those hundreds of Aboriginal tribes have completely different languages .
So I honestly don’t see how we could use just one Aboriginal language in an anthem, only members of that tribe would understand it.

What a storm in a teacup.
It speaks volumes of the proud Maori , who is happy to rise for , and sing very emotionally, his national anthem, God Defend New Zealand. And yet, the Indigenous Australian cannot bring himself to show the same pride and emotion as he stands for the emblematic song of his country.
No, it wasn’t written by a native Australian, it was written by a Scotsman but then the New Zealand anthem was written by an Irishman, not a native New Zealander and yet they are able to stand proudly, some with tears , singing the song of their country.
Personally, I don’t care what we sing so long as we all stand together with pride that we’ve built through sheer hard work, the greatest country in the world.
While ever we have this division, while ever our apology (for our forefathers ill treatment, not ours) goes unaccepted, continually thrown up in our faces, nothing we do will ever satisfy.
If reconciliation is ever truly possible then we have to be met halfway.
But here’s a solution, don’t play any anthems, the haka and war cry will be just fine. Whites won’t be offended.
