Strikes me as another Farr Jones tantrum.

New Wallabies jersey to be inspired by 1991 design after vote

I cannot see the tour going ahead in South Africa in 2021. Possibly in 2022 but who knows.

On thing that does confuse me is why the is chat in the media about the alternative of the UK hosting the Lions Tour. I cannot see why the UK would be in a better spot to deal with the COVID-19 related issues.

Both SA and the UK have tens of thousands of cases everyday. They both have a new more infectious strains of the virus. They both are struggling to contain it.

Seems the only alternative is to postpone the tour.

Will the Lions actually tour South Africa in 2021?

The way things are going, given choice, I’d rather try and fail to make the ABs than make the Wallabies…

To be fair, it seems that the current administration is bit of a mess too and I think they’re all Aussies.

NRL's Bulldogs snare former All Blacks coach Hansen

Can’t argue with you there mate! It seems there’s a mole at the RA headquarters. Leaks re Folau saga, tv deal negotiations, SANZAAR negotiations, the Castle resignation saga and teams seem porous.

Though I expect Banks (and others) had a good idea who was in the team before yesterday.

I’m expecting big improvement in the Bulldog’s line out next season…

Ah yes, well in that case Double Agent you might be best sharing your “personal experience” with a psychologist rather than on this forum. Seems like you are crying out for help.

All Blacks will be without two key players for Bledisloe 3

That was strangely specific….

All Blacks will be without two key players for Bledisloe 3

If the players want to take a need then that’s their decision and I support their right to the freedom to make that decision. The issues I do have with them taking a knee are:

1. Why did this not happen in the first game back in Wellington or any game during Super Rugby AU? (in an applicable form). It disappoints me that this is now a talking point only because they have brought back the indigenous jersey. Tokenism. If taking a knee during the national anthem once when it is foreshadowed is all the Wallabies can muster to stand against racism then that really is a shame.

2. They take a knee…. what next? It’s almost as usual as changing your profile picture to black. What purpose does it serve if taking a knee is the extent of your conviction against racism.

I think we need to be more proactive. We need to be running full campaigns like in has been the case in football (albeit not hugely successful there). “Rugby Against Racism” banners at ANZ Stadium etc, and have wallabies coming out and making a pledge videos that they will call out racism (like the white ribbon pledge against domestic violence) and calling supporters to record their own pledges.

IT'S A DRAW! Bledisloe 1 ends all square

Great signing! Was hoping that the Force would pick up Powell but glad to see him stick around in Aus nonetheless. Shame to see Louwrens go but we are blessed with some good halfbacks at the moment.

Rebels sign Brumbies halfback Joe Powell

Not sure this was a good signing considering the Force has Ralston and McGregor who can play at the back. The bloke seems way past it and the deal is too short to really be about mentoring.

I saw an article that read something like “Western Force sign experienced fullback” and instantly thought they had signed Morahan. Alas, not to be.

When are we going to see that Twiggy Forrest money used to sign someone actually exciting??

Western Force signing spree continues with Irish superstar

Going to be honest with you… I completely forgot about LSL

Wallabies dealt massive injury blow for Rugby Championship

Still a bit dirty on Rodda so can’t advocate for his selection. I reckon give Hosea and Phillip a run with Simmons on the bench. I know Coleman is around but from what I hear he’s had a few injuries too and not a lot of game time under his belt.

Certainly not but I think it would also be foolish to assume that Qantas would have remained the major sponsor indefinitely.

The three golden rules to any bankable professional sport are:

1. A lucrative broadcasting deal;
2. Genuine marketable superstars; and
3. A long-term major sponsor.

Australian Rugby doesn’t have any of these!

I wonder if Hooper could play outside centre?

Michael Hooper will remain as Wallabies captain for 2020

Makes sense but ouch…

– No set competition format for 2021.
– No broadcasting deal.
– Player pay agreement due to expire.
– Rugby Championship still not settled.
– Can’t find a permanent CEO.
– And now no major sponsor.

Crikey.

Admittedly my position is more based on my own anxieties as to the significance of the challenges to come rather than Sampson’s performance in 2020. I could be completely wrong (which would be good). However, I just think that Sampson’s lack of experience is a risk that could result in the Force being perpetual cellar dwellers.

Western Force announce major signing of Tevita Kuridrani

I didn’t mind Sampson and it was great to see a new Aussie coach come forward. My only concern is that I really don’t think he is up to the task ahead of him. The Force might be back at the moment but only good performances will keep them from getting the chop again. The Force could really do with a coach that can turn them from easy beats to championship contenders even as early as next season. I just don’t think Sampson can do that.

Great signing!
Now all they need is a hard nosed back rower and a world class coach.

Missing out on Dan McKellar is a big blow for the Wallabies and a big win for the Brumbies. I must say that I did not see Parling’s appointment coming.
