Fremantle should tell Brad Hill that they value him far more than the Saints do. Freo should keep him for 2020 and then perhaps trade him with still another year on his contract. Fremantle wanted pick 6 but the Saints have traded that to GWS. Peter Bell should tell the Saints they have blown any chance of a deal for the 2020 season. Having said this I am worried Freo will give in and allow a deal to go through.

I was hoping Tim Kelly would come to Fremantle. I’m sure the Dockers would have offered Geelong a better deal. I do however appreciate that tim has said he much preferred the Eagles. Given the medical assessment of Brad Hill I hope he stays with Fremantle.

I see the Saints have noted an injury when conducting a medical check on Brad Hill. Surely while Hill is still a Freo player he should not have to undergo a medical with the Saints until a trade agreement has been reached with Fremantle. As with all trade agreements their completion should be subject to a satisfactory medical conducted by the club the player is being traded to. Players should not be subjected to medicals during trade period until an agreement has been reached and then the medical should take place.

It will certainly be of interest to see how the traded players perform for their new clubs. But it is also of interest to see how the new coaches at Adelaide and Fremantle go, along with the recent appointments at Carlton, Nth Melbourne and the Saints. Coaching performances can have a serious bearing on a club’s season.
