It appears to be plenty, when taken in conjunction with the rest of Aus, NZ, PNG and the Pacific. I can’t see a decline in player quality anytime soon.
I don’t think anyone would argue that junior soccer participation significantly outstrips any other football code, but there is no data to suggest that League is going to lose its player pipeline anytime soon. I think the A-League needs to be proactive rather than just hope the other codes become less popular. What that looks like I do not know.

Serious question – what is your basis for suggesting that grassroots is diminishing. All figures currently point to growth, particularly among girls, women and juniors. Links below. The pool size doesn’t appear to be shrinking significantly, especially when school based competitions and poached junior rugby players are taken into account
Demographic ratings data also doesn’t indicate a skew towards older for rugby league and neither does the large social media following in Aus for teams and players across different platforms (Tik tok, instagram, Facebook).
