Oh for sure, same as those mongrel moggies from Geelong are to WCE fans! Along with tigers and pies. Yep, enjoy too!

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 9 and (some of) Round 10

Be interested to watch this young Harry Edwards play in defence today against the Cats. Comes with some good raps. A real baptism of fire in the same zone with Hawkins!

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 9 and (some of) Round 10

Sure, who doesn’t try that on their home deck? Par for course really -but that doesn’t equate to flat track bullies, otherwise most good teams could be accused of the same. It’s just a meaningless cliche, like chardonnay sippers etc, but that’s footy! We have to paint the oppo as evil and despicable…

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 9 and (some of) Round 10

Groan – ‘flat track bullies’ does that tired old trope ever die? Eagles got pantsed in QLD hub while the QLD teams did the flat track bullying to most visitors. So now it’s their turn to capitalise on the Perth hub, before they return to an eastern hub again. You mean those flat track bullies that came from behind 5 goals down and won the GF at MCG? 😂

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 9 and (some of) Round 10

I reckon Eagles fans enjoy the Pies and Tigers games foremost, maybe then Port and the Cats? But Cats played in heavy rain on a hard Optus deck with a short turnaround, minus some key players – they should get outgunned and outrun by the in form Coasters! Although they do match up well with Eagles.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 9 and (some of) Round 10

Maybe, just good to keep a lid on it. Need to be wary of the Cats. Still a long way to go. WCE needs to win all Optus games as insurance before they have to head to another (QLD) hub again -although arguably they might be playing better 2nd time around? The big tests are teams like Lions, Port and Tigers away!

AFL top 100: The season so far (Part 3)

That would be such a selfish, mean-spirited thing to do – maybe the AFL would step in somehow? Then hopefully the Cats get flogged from pillar to post next season and Scott gets sacked, beautiful! 😂

It's official: Tim Kelly requests trade to West Coast

The Cats are being very belligerent in this deal before it’s even started. They have a duty of care towards a player and where he wants to go. Especially a player with the family concerns that Kelly has. They’ve had two years to keep Kelly and clearly didn’t do enough for his family. There were reports of Cats supporters attacking Kelly’s wife on social media. Scott last year said he wasn’t about to give Kelly to WCE because he didn’t want to assist them in any way that makes them a better club in finals????? What a screwed up parochial unsporting attitude that is. If all teams followed that approach, what a crappy negative downward spiral the comp would be in! Kelly already had links with WCE and knows they now have a strong family culture. Also in the Cat’s press very salty release, the spokesman said at the end of the day it’s all about what’s best for the Cats (which sums them up) and there was not even a thank you to Kelly for his services!!? Kelly has been more than gracious to the club in his release. Scott always the drama queen!

Ah, the boring old arrogance trope yet again! Move on.

Geelong's fast start and strong finish eliminates Eagles

What a self-congratulatory legend, buy yourself a drink!

Geelong's fast start and strong finish eliminates Eagles

Haha, love it! We’re back to being arrogant, just like the gutter press is wheeling out all the old drug tropes, strangely on the eve of finals in melbourne – again! We probably drink chardonnay too?-remember that old chestnut from the 80’s? Some of you people haven’t moved on for decades. Fortunately the Eagles have. No club or team in this competition is perfect, do you really need me to go through every team and list their indiscretions? Haven’t the Cats, Pies and Tigers all has their fallouts in recent times? While the vic press is doing it’s best to hijack this game, I hope the Eagles convert this bad energy into some devastating on field form, and turn the Cats into roadkill on the wide open spaces of their home away from home, the non-intimidating MCG!! Go the mighty Eagles! And if we stumble at the hurdle, we’ll be back bigger and better and more arrogant and drinking more chardonnay next year, not going anywhere soon!!

Geelong Cats vs West Coast Eagles: AFL semi-final forecast

Wow, so may here jumping to conclusions and convicting the man before the facts are released or he’s even had a chance to defend himself? The haters are out, so are the tacky headlines and biased gutter press.
Some things still don’t add up and the timing is definitely suspect, whether the AFL was aware or not.

Willie Rioli facing four-year ban by ASADA over sample tampering

That was a cute video of a young Toby. We’ve all got one (or photos) at home somewhere. Then we grow up into something else? He just comes across as an arrogant thug. If it behaves like an arrogant thug and talks like an arrogant thug, then…?
Don’t care how talented he is, how much a gun, a superstar or a blah-blah. He behaves like a thug. There are many gun players out there who don’t behave like a bully-thug. There are many gun players who have a great understanding of sportsmanship, a once revered Aussie quality. Toby seems sadly lacking in this department. That was a gutless dog act on Bont.(no disrespect to Bulldogs)

The good, the bad and the Toby: Greene's gaffes may cost him superstar status

Ha, what defence doesn’t get a wobble under continuous intense pressure? I recall Rance and the Dusty-Tongue getting pantsed at Optus, that was a wobble by the whole team? Tom was good on Friday btw. ‘You guys blew it’ ?…that’s footy and Tigers are certainly not immune to that, nor invincible. Don’t drink your bathwater too soon.

From flag favourite to dark horse: can West Coast still go back-to-back?

he was booed like no other in the history of football. it was a mass public bullying across the country. It prevented him from doing a lap of honour for fear of being booed!!? what kind of country is this, what kind of person are you when you can just Pfffft that off as nothing?? Love him or hate him, he was a great footballer, a champion and he wasn’t allowed to finish his career with a lap of honour, which he deserved and was entitled to.

No excuse to boo Goodes

so that’s the main reason for all the booing-the fact that she was a 13 yr old girl, and who is he to humiliate her? if she’s old enough to go to a footy match by herself and yell out racist remarks, then she’s old enough to be reprimanded or corrected. what a poor excuse, oh she’s an innocent 13 yr old white girl? and what is footy culture really, when everyone feels they have the right to lean over the fence and abuse players and umpires carte blanche, call them anything they want-what does it say about us as people and footy as a sport culture. We call adam goodes and ape and yet we behave like apes ourselves, bogan apes! and proud of it too! proud of our stupidity and bad behaviour?

No excuse to boo Goodes

He’s an odd character is Smith, has this steely resolve and gritty determination as a player, an absolute ‘man-up’ pro on field – yet has this babyface, squeakyvoiced childish demeanour about him off field?
I don’t have a problem with all the sandpaper antics that went on, they paid their dues, we move on. But what I disliked immensely was the Tv blubbering by Smith and Warner, so embarrassing. Nothing wrong with grown men crying, but not in that situation, they should’ve just repented and copped it on the chin, the crying on international Tv was like little schoolboys in front of the headmaster? No wonder they’re being ridiculed at Edgbaston.
Anyway Smith saved the day with an outstanding feat of stoicism and grit. But what a terrible collapse if he’d gone for much the same as the others, even for 50. How good is Broad? Why didn’t our bowlers have the same impact?

Steve Smith once again saves Australia from Ashes embarrassment

Clearly I’m no expert, but watching the new technology (amazing) of ball going through transparent bodies-why don’t they use this for all decisions, so it’s 100% correct all the time, especially after so many dodgy umpire calls? I realise you still need an ump out there. Is it just too time-consuming? a speedier process? So frustrating to see the umpires bad calls or players not call for review only to get it wrong- it’s far from perfect, it’s simply not cricket, or perhaps it is?

Steve Smith once again saves Australia from Ashes embarrassment

I think the Doco revealed that Goodes had the young girl’s welfare first and foremost. It showed what a compassionate and well-balanced person he was. It revealed the true nature of people like Sam Newman and Eddy Mcquire, no matter how much they tried to ‘spin’ over their transgressions or ‘gaffes’. It revealed how much power and influence shock-jocks wield (Alan Jones has a lot to answer for on many fronts). It revealed how easily led people and crowds are, but hey what’s new there? (fascist rallies anyone?). It showed the thin veneer of Australian society, the dark side of Australian sport. Just because you say you’re not racist, doesn’t make you not racist. Regardless of who made the Doco, racism has always existed in this country, Aborigines in chains weren’t photoshopped. White Australia policy anyone? The saddest result was to see Goodes being bullied en masse, across the country and somehow that was okay? People seemed to feel good about that? The other terribly sad thing is that a champion footballer was hounded so much that he couldn’t participate in a lap of honour at the Grand Final, for “fear” of being booed and humiliated=bullied on his last day. We should hang our heads in shame, because nothing, NOTHING, you say can justify that result against a single player, who happened to be of colour, an Indigenous citizen, who WAS a proud Australian, probably not anymore. Where would our game be without the wonderful skills and excitement of our Indigenous players. I hope they build a statue of Adam Goodes, like Nicky Winmar, with his arm stretched out, pointing, pointing out racism, pointing out the dark heart of Australia!

No excuse to boo Goodes

Once again, that was a different time of season, things change, teams change, eagles have changed since then. They’re starting to hit form after a shaky start to season due to shorter preseason, injuries/surgery etc. They got whacked by Lions in Rnd 1, but that’s just not going to happen again if they meet in finals. They got whacked by Cats at the cattery, that simply won’t happen again in finals. My point is we’ve seen the Cats at their strongest, but the comp hasn’t yet seen the eagles at their strongest! If you doubt that, then you make the same mistake as last season re Eagles in finals and GF.

AFL top 100: Preview West Coast vs Collingwood

Losing Cripps was a blow, his run-defence-goal assists, often pops up for a needed goal. But the derby drained us I suspect, a hard slog in the rain and wet-we ran out of legs in the last quarter. Was a game of centimetres and seconds! Could’ve gone either way. Credit to the Pies though, they did enough with tactics and determination to make it go their way – just.

Pies stun Eagles in thrilling grand final rematch

I wouldn’t be so hasty to write JK off yet? Besides when he’s down or held, Darling tends to get off the chain, as happened. JK had a limited preseason/surgery, and gets hammered by the opp. every game. He’ll come good.

Pies stun Eagles in thrilling grand final rematch

That was my point, that was then, this is now. Footy changes, teams change. If they play each other again, it will be a closer margin or a different result-guaranteed! So it means nothing really in today’s football, especially this season. Didn’t Pies just have an insipid game, coach called it a shellacking, after a couple of losses, then they go on to win by a point in a game that wasn’t actually the grand final. It’s all swings and roundabouts until the fat lady sings!

AFL top 100: Preview West Coast vs Collingwood

Cheers, yes I was being a tad sarky! theyve won 3 times against the pies at G, and the other teams. anyways, sometimes you create your own luck, but they seem to have a knack for getting over the line when it counts.

AFL top 100: Round 15 review

The Cats haven’t met the real Eagles yet, but the Eagles have already met the real Cats!
