Hey Waz, any idea on how much Brisbane actually got for his transfer? Cheers

Does Adam Taggart’s rich vein of form have Socceroos ramifications?

Very impressive display by the lads. I really liked what I saw from every player. I think Gillesphey will be a great defender for us, really liked what I saw from him. Akbari was brilliant and I’m keen to see more of him. Courtney-Perkins looks like he’s definitely A-League material. Jay O’Shea will only get better as will all our players. I think there’s good reason to be excited. I’ve been very excited since day one, last night was a huge statement from Brisbane Roar.

I thought Sydney were exposed big time last night as they didn’t really have a plan B and never really looked dangerous to me. No doubt they will come back from this though. And I take back what I said about Wellington, loads of work ahead for them haha would be have been great if we drew Brisbane Strikers but not be.

And of course, it’s still early days but as a Roar fan who has endured some tough times lately… I’M EXCITED

Robbie Fowler makes dream debut against Sydney FC

This transfer ban was the best thing to happen to Chelsea in years.

How will Chelsea go under Lampard?

Oar’s only weakness will be his health, if he can stay injury free, he should have a good season. Like the Roar, they need a good start. Tongyik in my opinion could be one of the best defenders in the league. But to me, he lacks mongrel, aggression. Da Silva needs to prove himself too, lots of question marks there. But I think they can do well and I hope they do. Wellington is another team who I think could fight for the six again, their defence will be lacking, it’s a question of whether Luke Devere can stay 100% healthy, it’s a shame it didn’t work out for him at Brisbane, great player in my opinion, just unlucky. But they too will score lots and concede just as much

I agree, Zach Duncan was a big loss indeed, especially in the sense he was able to move for free. But does it work the same in Europe? If not, how do we fix this issue? From a Brisbane fans perspective, we always seem to get a crap deal when our youngsters leave. Is that simply poor business on our behalf? Cheers

Seems like a fair prediction Waz, I too think Central Coast have the potential to turn a few heads this season.

Fair enough Lionheart, probably a good mindset to be in, especially considering the last couple of seasons. It’s definitely great to see a change of culture at Brisbane, they definitely needed it. RF seems to have brought a real winning mentality and hopefully that turns into results. We should be a lot more fit than in recent years as well. I agree Waz about Brattan and Brillante. I would have been happy to have either player personally. Also very happy with our youth players, would love to see the likes of Akbari get more of a run. I’d say with the way we are going to play, he will definitely get minutes, just not many starts. Wenzal-Halls in my opinion should be starting every game just because he’s a very talented young Australian striker. But the fact that we paid a small fee to get an import in the likes of Amadi-Hollaway – who, despite having a rather uninspiring CV, I think can be the signing of the off season, means he too will probably come off the bench. Time will tell. I’d say we need a right midfielder, and maybe one more central midfielder. Along with our youth and we have a solid unit!

I am really impressed with Robbie Fowler so far, and his recruitments. Seems as though he has got very high expectations in training and wants total professionalism, and the players seem to be responding very well indeed. He’s the reason they all signed up here. They won’t be training in Orange anymore because they have to earn the Orange, little things like that! It’s a whole new culture. And everyone is on board. But as you said, FFA Cup will be much more telling.

My question is, who exactly are our Marquee players? Cause I have heard so many different things from a wide range of sources. I have even heard we are looking to pick up an Australian Marquee..
