Hi Joe,
Well and strongly worded analysis of the situation, as a die hard Brumby supporter I am aghast at the decisions made by Rugby North Shore/ Bankstown. I am also of the firm belief it must be handed over to those who are true Rugby people.
I’d like to include a few names for your consideration, Papworth, Kearns, and Dwyer if available. These have the development of the game first and foremost, all 3 would make excellent candidates for the head position, providing true leadership which is much needed at this time.
I will leave the IF decision alone one of our darkest times in Rugby, I can’t believe they caved in that quickly. Only decision that goes close to this is the sacking of the Western Force?????

It seems to me, that we fail to recognize true talent. Laurie Lordy Fischer has a very distinguished scrapbook of players who have been inspired to greater arenas i.e. Wallabies. He must have a lot going for him. Head coach of Glouster, won the title. He is no BS just do your job. I believe he would be outstanding on a coaching panel to reshape our direction… I am open to your opinion..

AB’s can pick 2.5 world class sides… easily… Not even trying…While we persist with MC as Coach and stupid laws that stop our best players to be on the field or available… the blood bath will continue.. Thanks for the insightful commentary about combinations. But you neglect to explain or emphasis the tackling ability of Beale. A Coles turnstile has a better technique than KB. He is our best choice at Fullback… C’mon. MC will distinguish himself at the WC, leave the coaching position.. We need good leadership, and good coaches. Our best players need to be available, not this Mickey Mouse show. Some of MC selections would be lucky to make the train on squad at the Brumbies and Rebels.. This is not a small tournament, it is the world cup the best of the best… Australian Rugby deserves better for it’s fans…

Thanks again for a well though out article. Unfortunately, you spell out all to well what will be the our failure in the WC. Beale at fullback is a nightmare that the ABs and other teams will exploit. MC needs to understand at best he is an impact player off the bench, that leaves DHP or Hodge. I can’t fathom what TK has done wrong, in his best form for the SS season. But probably unlikely to get a run, given MC bias he would be behind AAC, I know.. silly as it seems…

I believe Australian Rugby is in the worst place it could be … We need coaches that actually coach.. not Statesmen.. we need players that show up ready to play, We need structures that create players.. Laurie Fischer needs more credit and more input to the national system. He, I believe takes broken payers and turns them into winners. His handy work is all over the rugby world!!! Scott Fardy 3rd best player in Europe, can’t get a gig in the Wallabies!!! AB’s rate him at Blindside Flanker.. We have a young goldilocks who hides on the wing..Come on
