From a “neutral” Saffa there are several points for me:
1. Congratulations to both teams, it was an awesome test match played at great pace and with a lot of skill.
2. The Wallabies were the better team imo, for Aussies trust that they’re getting better.
3. I actually think the ref did a good job overall. We regularly complain about TMO over involvement, Raynal was reasonably decisive and seemed to keep things moving without messing around. On the yellow cards, some seem/are harsh but again if you involve the TMO’s in deciding things we would probably be complaining.
4. The BIG one. Again, I think it is Raynal being “decisive”, although it was a “novel” decision it wasn’t unexpected.
5. The breakdown interpretation was completely different to against the Bokke in Sydney, one area that WR certainly needs to look at.

The Wrap on Friday: Call it all the time or not at all - crazy, ridiculous moment we should have seen coming

This is why series against minnows are important. Massive congratulations to Zimbabwe and a big thank you to Cricket Australia and the Australian team for holding the series and putting it in Townsville!

Humiliation! Australia STUNNED by Zimbabwe in historic first after latest batting disaster

I think the teams that deserve the most criticism here are Wales and the Bokke. Both are playing with almost no ambition at the moment, games between them result in aerial ping pong with little attempt at scoring tries.

And on this note, the thing I find most frustrating is everyone (including JN) assumes SA’s style of play is the exact same as it’s always been. Obviously it’s always been heavily forward based and around set pieces but all the great Bokke teams have been more than capable of scoring tries using the backline. Just watch the highlights of any of the best teams over the years and you’ll see a totally different mentality compared to the current one: use your pack to get you field position, draw defenders in and physically tire the other team before using your backline vs smother the other team and hope for a penalty.

Is Eddie Jones' England's boring rugby hurting the code?

Yes that is true I was more thinking of HIA where a doctor should tell players to go off-also a good player safety measure.

'Grossly negligent': Lions legends call for end of finishers and impact subs to make rugby 'safer'

As noted below there may well be gamesmanship regarding head injuries or other injuries. To get around this why not have a blanket rule that any player taken off by an independent doctor must miss the game the following week?

Anyone considered that RE is actually auditioning for Alan Jones’ old radio position? Passed with flying colours I would say.
