I really appreciate Brett leading from the front here. He and his fellow signatories are leading the way. They have some pull and will get media coverage. There are hundreds if not thousands of volunteers who feel the same way across the country. Without media coverage this message would never get out. There is no forum for the volunteers to have their say, that means anything to the State Unions or ARU.

Is there anything in this strategic plan about country rugby? What about those who want to play the game for the enjoyment of it? Pathways are not important to those players. Wouldn’t that be a great way to introduce women into the game, enjoyment.
Those that have played or play the game are the base of supporters for the professional games, their numbers are in decline. How do we get them back? In some country areas it may be too late. It is more cost efficient for ARU to build player numbers in bigger population areas such as South East Queensland and Sydney. That is where the growth in rugby will occur.
