The departure of Daryl Gibson and the introduction of Rob Penney hasn’t changed much because it also coincided with the departure of Steve Tandy and Simon Cron. It’s such a shame the Waratahs didn’t do more to keep those two, because I feel that quality assistant coaches are just as important, while Rob Penney is a good head coach he needs proven strong qualified assistants to back him up. Phil Bailey doesn’t exactly install confidence, he’s really only coached amateur and semi-pro teams.
