Grem I think Bruno needs to go. He’s in the zone now and really can’t be denied. This is the tournament we can realistically win and we need to be sending our in-form players. Never mind about age or building for the future. We have so many wingers its not funny and Fornaroli is your classical number 9. And I don’t mean back to goal, heading type 9 like Duke.
JMac has to miss out I think.

A-League Men fans have no interest in talking about the football

I think he was the first and then maybe Paul Wade as well? What a blast from the past lol

There is a difference between being critical of a coach’s tactics etc to what this guy said about Ange. Talk about bitter and twisted. And he knows the other coaches intimately? Of course you only get snippets of him. Does he have sit down meals, spend weekends away with other coaches?
What a knob.

'I can't stand him': British columnist mocks Ange Postecoglou in scathing take on his coaching

SS it doesn’t matter about his age. We want to win the Asian Cup and he should be used in that tournament. Who’s the striker you refer to?

Four-naroli! Striker makes Socceroos case with 100th A-League goal as Victory defeat Wanderers in epic

How can you not pick him? He scores quality goals and at the moment is the best striker in the country. He has to be picked in my opinion.

The ball hits the ball of his shoulder. That is not handball.
How they can send a man off, in the 15th minute and change the whole game on a decision that is not 100% clear cut, makes a mockery of the rules.
East coast bias against an east coast team no doubt.

Red-mayne: Socceroo sent off as Sydney FC fall to table-topping Macarthur

Agree Garry. Not a red card and what we have these days is VAR having the final say by default. No ref would dare challenge a bank of “experts” all viewing footage over and over and over and over again.
And still getting it wrong.

Red-mayne: Socceroo sent off as Sydney FC fall to table-topping Macarthur

And the bog*n other footy supporter looking to be aggressive when someone suggested soccer was football. The bog*n gamblers love that ad I’m sure.

Good luck Harry

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie ... Kewell tipped to follow Ange and Musky at top Japanese club

Redondo – very good points. If the A League folded tomorrow, whilst it would be a shame, it would make little difference to participation or for that matter viewing numbers. The A League works as a small component of the whole football ecosystem. It’s what league and AFL fans fail to grasp and are always equating the A League with the deff of sokkah in Aus.

The A-League could learn a little from rugby league – but not in the way you think

Ok because the article started with:
“While there isn’t a comparison to be made in terms of popularity in Australia – that’s the NRL hands down – or globally, where soccer dominates” – it sounded like NRL v Football in general.

The A-League could learn a little from rugby league – but not in the way you think

Good to see them aiming high Waz

Mike are you comparing league v A League or actually the whole sokkah?

Lots of tongue in cheek there. You’ll be screeching for TG’s head again soon 🙂
I know the WC didn’t turn out well for you because it would have meant TG getting the boot.

Play the oldies or blood the youth? Graham Arnold can use Tony Gustavsson's wild selections as inspiration for his Asian Cup squad

I know what you were referring to in regards to the trials. And it’s competitive and clubs are competitive. That’s the whole point! And how does it affect you or your child? Pick a club and go with that one. If you don’t make it well that’s just the competitive nature of it all.
“Have a look at the Japanese system, a whole country working together. ”
I have looked at it and I’ve spent 2 weeks coaching there at various top division clubs to see how they do things. If you think they are benevolent with each other and all for the common good you are not looking hard enough.
It’s the competition that raises the standard not benevolence.
Yes there are some dodgy operators out there but at the end of the day if your child is good enough they will find their level at the appropriate club. Even allowing for all the time wasting etc as you correctly pointed out.

Football will never get anywhere in Australia until it presents a united front

How about it’s because they all have their trials on the very first available date?
Ie – they all want to be the first option for a player.
Why do you always look to be spiteful when it comes to NPL clubs?
It’s not because they are childish, but it’s because they don’t want to miss out.
Hence they do NPL1 first and once they are finished the NPL2 trials starts.
That way all players get a chance to trial at an NPL1 club first, and then if they arent successful, they trial at NPL2.
How would you run football?

Football will never get anywhere in Australia until it presents a united front

Oink (lol) yes I know that. I didn’t think it was violent play though. If a defender had done that to a player it more than likely would be a yellow as well.

LH not only that, but the surface required for an AFL match could be played on the moon and wouldn’t make any difference to the standard.
Same with rugba league.

Chaos in Campbelltown, lingering lightning, Suncorp's shameful surface

Brains I’ve been saying it for years that the AFL are the most parasitic organisation in the country.

Andy H is knowledgeable and does know his stuff. He does come across as patronising at times especially in the women’s game. Some of his observations regarding TG at times are down right denigrating.
Yes he was correct in his observations the other day against Canada but he has gone overboard at times.

Football will never get anywhere in Australia until it presents a united front

In NoMates world, only league and AFL survive because they have the old mans TV gravy train to rely on. Can they keep handing out the billions in years to come? We shall see I guess.

Football will never get anywhere in Australia until it presents a united front

Great finish to the game. What were Adelaide thinking on their corner at 3-2 up?
Talk about being caught on the break.

The Japanese would love his discipline 🙂

That’s because normally the keeper IS the last line. But in this case he wasn’t.
You keep blustering like I don’t know what I’m talking about and you are some kind of know it all. It might work with some other’s but not with me.

Football will never get anywhere in Australia until it presents a united front

Yes excellent points. We could potentially have 6-8 players all playing in a top 5 league in Europe. And we also have coaches now in top leagues. 10 years ago this would not have been possible.
