Ray price and mick Cronin for the mighty eels in 1986.
Yes it was not nrl era but it was better

Going out with a bang: Ten NRL players who finished on top

Perth should be next, it’s a no brainer! They have economy, govt backing and corporate support. PNG is a political idea from Albo but if Vlandys falls for that he has lost the plot.
And I’m from NSW

PNG bid has potential but NRL can’t have further expansion without the three Rs - relocation, relegation or rationalisation

The game is bigger than individual clubs and WA should be next team in.

Round 24 Preview Talking Points: Does NRL care about WA? no love for O’Brien, whopping bans and Nine's secret Saturdays

I’m from NSW and WA should have the next team. They have corporate support, govt backing and different time zone for tv.

Round 24 Preview Talking Points: Does NRL care about WA? no love for O’Brien, whopping bans and Nine's secret Saturdays

I’m from NSW but believe magic round should go to WA for a year to promote our game.
Also, WA has juniors, ex pats, corporate support, govt backing and time zone for tv and should be 18th team.

I agree. It has to be Perth Bears next and I follow Parra

NRL News: Murray's Wallabies message for Eddie, Locky backs Walsh for Origin debut, Ipswich jets into expansion mix

I agree but AFL do include it

Rugby league dominates, but how well is the AFL doing in Sydney?

Perth Bears

Rugby league dominates, but how well is the AFL doing in Sydney?

Totally agree. I have been saying this for years but typical Victorian (AFL) rectric about big crowds at the G is their only comment.
The others measures you have outlined quite correctly.

Not enough corporate support in Tas. Bring in Perth Bears

Perth Bears should be next

And good luck to women’s soccer and NRLW which is going great guns

Matildas on the up in national popularity ranks at the expense of the struggling Wallabies

Germ, are you Victorian by any chance?
The 2 states, NSW and QLD have about the same population as the others added up so that is not an argument. Up the Kangaroos!

Matildas on the up in national popularity ranks at the expense of the struggling Wallabies

I’m from central coast and it would be nice to have a team here but the best option is WA.
Eg. Perth bears. They have juniors, economy, ex pats and time zone is perfect for tv deal.

Where should the NRL's 18th franchise go?

I can’t remember the mighty eels 81-83 acting so cocky

The only team that can stop arrogant Panthers from three-peat is themselves

I’m a parra fan and Penrith were too good. We had a top year but Penrith would have beaten anyone on that performance. It’s a shame they are so cocky!

The only team that can stop arrogant Panthers from three-peat is themselves

That’s a great atmosphere! Let’s keep it going at Leichhardt, brookvale and kogarah.
I love parra stadium but these suburban grounds are brilliant

Who cares just play!

Magic Round just became aquatic round: Why you should never play eight NRL games at the same venue

Randy

What will a decade of global rugby union showpieces mean for the NRL?

Good call Andy

What will a decade of global rugby union showpieces mean for the NRL?

Maybe but NRL a long way in front of union in this country

Who cares about the weather! It’s a winter sport and can rain sometimes! In the old days most grounds had no grass at all and if it rained it was mud. Let’s get over it! We are too precious these days

I agree to take it to other areas. I’m a parramatta supporter in NSW and went to 1981 GF but it’s not 1981 anymore. This will generate more income and exposure.

Tradition be damned: It's time to take grand final away from Sydney to highest bidder

I think it’s a great idea if you have the members. This would also publicise the benefits you get if you’re a member. And it wouldn’t be for every team or game. And most are not that expensive. For my family it was $220 which included 4 games and some merchandise and members days and newsletters etc

Eels to consider locking out general public for marquee fixtures in 2022

Great points made. I live in NSW but I would love more coverage overseas to promote the game. There is always costs associated and politics behind the scenes but the more the merrier I reckon
