If South African arrogance hadn’t left 6 points on the table at the start of the game when they were kicking for the corner instead of kickinhg for goal, then it wouldn’t have been so tight at the end. They took a long time to adapt to knock out rugby.

'It's not for the ego': Boks coach defends 'brave, ruthless' sacrifice of No.10 that decided semifinal

I hope that the English and RSA teams go out and play the game of their lives, with very little niggle.
The occasion deserves it.

England brace for new tricks from Bok 'innovators', 'enforcers' prepped for set-piece war - RWC semi-final talking points

“Call me a troll all you want … you can’t have an intelligent conversation without name calling … Narrow-minded people like you …”
Pot … kettle … black.
You have scrummed me into submission. I concede.

All Blacks' alpha flex that summed up massive gulf as Argies 'humiliated' in 'embarrassingly bad' RWC semi

Win or lose he has to go.
If they lose the final then he has to go for his woeful track record.
If they win then he has to go because Hansen demonstrated that even good coaches go bad after a world cup win.
And don’t bring up Rassie as a counter-argument RSA are a whole different kettle of fish.

Fozzie was one Test away from being sacked - now he's 80 minutes away from World Cup glory as ABs smash Pumas

You just did.
That was just a very Trump(ian) way to say it.

COMPLETE RWC SF teams: Poms make three changes as Boks name most capped XV, ABs' QF hero starts for Cheika's Pumas

“That’s very harsh and very personal. Do you know him”
That’s a pretty disingenuoous thing to say. I know his professional life and on field actions, I’m not commenting on his personal life here, his facebook page is probably the forum for that.
Also, don’t try and blame World Rugby for Farell’s poor conduct on the field. The vast majority of other captains don’t put in cheap head high tackles and shoulder charges (repeatedly), deny any wrong doing, and then hypocritically badger the referee when others do the same thing.

As I said elsewhere for the sake of perspective. His results with the AB’s
1. They lost to Aregntina at home. Not a good record to break.
2. They lost a test series to the Irish. Not a good record to break..
3. They lost a test series to the Irish AT HOME. Not a good record to break..
4. They lost a pool game in the RWC. Another low.
5. They have really only had one great game in the RWC, against Ireland. To put that in perspective, result-wise England have been better, to date.
6. They still haven’t won anything.
So it is a bit early to be asking Ian Foster’s critics to be eating humble pie.

Once again you fail to understand that scrums ARE part of the play time. To true lovers of the game they are just as enjoyable as the backs running into each other. I played 12 but I loved the scrum contest just as much as setting up to attack or defend from them too.

Impossible,no. Improbable, yes.
An Argentina win was not impossible either.

Even if the All Blacks win the RWC I’m happy that Foster is going. If they’d gotten rid of Hansen after he won the RWC the All Blacks might have won in 2019. 😢
Neither Henry or Hansen deserve a knighthood as they each lost a world cup too. Any good coach given the AB’s for 8 years and two World cups would have won one e.g. John Hart or Laurie Mains.

I’m happy that he didn’t get to eclipse Jonah.

“Begs the question” NOT “beggars the question”. You may be confused with “beggars belief.”
You’re welcome.

Harsh. But to continue your analogy, Eddie no longer has a use by date, his product has already expired.

The RWC isn’t about upsets it’s about one of the 8 best teams winning three games in a row at the pointy end of the competition. That’s what has been happening since 1987 and long may it continue.

Playing devils advocate:
1. They lost to Aregntina at home. Never stooped that low before.
2. They lost a test series to the Irish. Never stooped that low before.

Because (for the thousandth time) rugby league was invented by people who listened to entities like Daffyd for the following reasons.
1. They didn’t appreciate the scrum as an integral and skillful part of the game. They just saw it as a way to get the ball back into play. Hence scrums in league aren’t a contest.
2. Since it isn’t a contest you don’t need 8 forwards to play. Hence league only has 13 players.
Since they were splitting off a “new” (he chuckles derisively) game, the inventors of league took the opportunity to remove the tackle ball as a contest too.
So for every one of you who moans about the scrum and the tackle ball, the perfect response is “go and watch league”.
If you then say “I watch both so don’t tell me to go and watch league” that is not a valid argument.
Others have been respectful in their response but the fact is I can’t respect your opinion Daffyd or yours Peter because in my opinion you are just trolling: putting forward time-worn and repeatedly disabused notions to denigrate the game I love.
I’m glad you and your mates have stopped watching rugby Daffyd now if you would just get off the forums too that would be much appreciated.

Fox, I think you mean knew not new in your first sentence. They are homophones. You’re welcome.

The Wrap: Why that was the All Blacks' greatest ever RWC win - but the road to fourth title is still a rough one

“Whitelock, whose breakdown penalty win after 37 phases denied Ireland a match-winning penalty”
You need to work on your maths, they were 28 to 24 down, a penalty would not have won them the match.

'It happens': All Blacks defend star centre after spray as Cheika heaps pressure on 'favourites' New Zealand

A big part of the problem with Australian rugby is this desire to remain in the papers “any press is good press.” It has been said a million times already that the focus should be on the grassroots but the head honchos always just give lip service to this. If the tens of millions of dollars that have been wasted on league players had been spent on the grassroots and developing young players Australian rugby would be in a much better place. I think Australian rugby should really go under the radar for a while until an actual marketable product is put in place. The constant attempts to get attention by talking about signing league players doesn’t really garner any positive attention. You are not going to convert any league folllowers to the extent that they will spend money on rugby union. The game is too complicated for them to want to follow, bash them crash them league was invented by Australians for that very reason. The focus should be on keeping the current lot of supporters and getting back all the ones that Eddie has just lost. Fix the Australian product and just focus on keeping the potential stars we already have in our own backyard.

Eddie Jones joked about signing Nathan Cleary - but he might be the only man who can save the Wallabies

England might be able to contain the Boks for a while but once the second pack comes on they will wither. Their bench just can’t compare to the Springboks and a lot of their big lads can’t do a hard 80 minutes.
I hate the thought of Owen Farell winning the Cup he is the most loathsome captain in the tournament.

COMPLETE RWC SF teams: Poms make three changes as Boks name most capped XV, ABs' QF hero starts for Cheika's Pumas

Seriously, you guys didn’t know this? That explains a lot of the comments on this forum people don’t know the actual rules and just have their own bs opinions on how the game should be played.

Then don’t recruit them. That’s them saying that they’re bigger than the game. We don’t need them.

This side of the ditch to New Zealand or this side of the ditch to South Africa? Is it called the ditch between South Africa and Australia?
