Greatest Rugby Player To Never Play Rugby.

Their is New Zealand Rugby, the great Pacific Ocean, Antarctica, Lord Howe Island to Perth and then there is South Africa and Australian Rugby (exception of Lions). The canyon between them and the rest of us is unbelievable. In the space of me going to the fridge to get a beer and make a cheese and ham toasted sandwich, the Crusaders score three tries.

Ditto mate, I hear what your saying and agree. I guess I was just appealing to the intellect of those on this blog. As you mention, we’re all in the same boat hoping ultimately that all will be sorted. I tend to think back to the years before we won the ’99 RWC, 1998 we turned the corner, 1995-97 we were outclassed by our little bros from across the ditch in all levels of rugby. Surely, that next corner to take is not that far off. But as we do in this country “how far is it? (Insert time)________.”

Was on Cocaine as well? He might as well have been with that statement.

Kidwell adamant Kiwis not far off Aussies

Well, I hope the NRL come down hard on them. Suspension for rest of season without pay would suffice.

Bromwich, Proctor allegedly bought cocaine after Anzac Test

As a rugby diehard, I hope this goes through and the new franchise keeps Ballymore. QLD Reds walked away from the ground and grateful that footballers will bring the old girl back to life. Officially a fan of this new club if it comes through. Fingers crossed.

Sadly, outside of the Ashes and Big Bash Cricket, the game seems to be irreparable.

40 years since the World Series Cricket 'circus' changed the game

Daley seems to spend more time on the sidelines then he actually does on the field. It was the same when he was with the Reds. He seems a little undersized and liable on scrimmaging.

Western Force injury crisis worsens with prop Daley staring down long sideline stint

The Rugby model is alive and very well. The Australian brand is what’s in dire need. If I were to promote the game in Australia just for interests sake, I’d have (in a prefect world), free to air coverage of NZ derby. Their brand is a delight and it suits out ethos of all out action and drama and edge of your seat stuff.

ARU have done all that they can to diminish the interest in the game by culling the grass roots. I am a local of the Sunshine Coast and our local rugby comp in 2017 only has 4 teams competing. Last year it was 5 and more the year before that, you get what I’m saying.

That’s one example in a plethora of “what hasn’t gone wrong” ARU Pulver run era. Rugby is fine, again, the model internationally is fine, Australia will be back up on its feet some day, we just need to run the broom through ARU HQ and insert people who actually know rugby. Pat Howard, Nick Farr-Jones, Simon Poidevin, etc.

Surely that was a call from either the coaches box or the captain, but you’re right, that was a head scratcher.

On another point, Marty Banks has to be the unluckiest number 10 in NZ rugby to be playing in such a time as the Barretts and Crudens of this world. He would not look out of place in an international side.

Here’s two All Blacks match-day 23s that could both beat the Lions

Old dog Hansen has a way of withholding key players for key tournaments. I agree, Ardie as great as he is for the Canes, he may find himself on the bench behind Cane. NMS is a great shame that he has encountered a raft of injuries since the RWC. But Naholo and Dagg, McKenzie and J.Barrett are not bad options either. SBW regardless of form will get the 12 jersey. Lienert-Brown and Crotty are a great combo and I guess we will all be eagerly, neutral and all be anticipating the All Blacks squad for this series. Cannot wait.

I was moreso in the thought that AB’s will flood that 10 & 12 Channel with SBW and others as it takes Sexton and Farrell out of the game (ever so briefly) which allows the second wave with Barrett running at a line without those two in it. Its all hypothetical but it will be mouth watering. As a neutral I expect the highest order of rugby, sadly we have been deprived of that in Australia.

Agree, almost as if Roos knew “this one is in the bag” and backed off. They would have put 50-60 up easily. Need Australian coach, but who in Australia would take the helm? Is there a kiwi coach capable of taking the kiwis further?

Highlights: Kangaroos crunch Kiwis in Anzac Test

Something to learn from in this game. Kiwi sides have mastered the good old cross field kick to perfection and it defuses any rushing defense structures. Here’s what I find odd. Who is the best jumper/leaper (without assistance) in world rugby? Hands down its Israel Folau, so why has this ploy/tactic failed to avail at tah land? We did see it once against the Kings and Naiyavoro scored. The Canes again in their own 22, cross field kick to Savea.

Hurricanes vs Stormers: Super Rugby live scores, blog

The series may come down to the battle of the back lines. Truly believe it will be trench warfare up front and I’d say parity at best for both respective forward packs but the edge for me would be the All Blacks back line. That 10 & 12 channel (assuming that it’s Sexton and Farrell) will be peppered with SBW, Savea, Naholo et al. However, we all know that the kiwis will play a smart brand of attacking rugby. I’d honestly keep George North as far away from the Lions starting line up or even the bench as he is a liability that will be exposed by Barrett & Co.

David Kidwell needs to step aside. Way out of his league. Kiwis need a new coach.

Fusitua is not as good ad Kahu. Kahu is a better defender. Fusitua is not better than DWZ. Fusitua struggles to hold a starting spot at the warriors. He’s hot and cold at best and against the best that Australia has to offer, the boys will sort him out.

Shocked Packer to start for Kiwis over experienced teammates

Nowhere near greatest heavyweight bout, not even in the same ball park. It was a good fight because we have been deprived of good heavyweight bouts for almost 20 years now and this just resembled and old fashion how it use to be kinda fight.

Aussie giant goes No.3 in NFL draft

I’d honestly go with Itoje and Kruis in the locking department allowing CJ, Warburton and Billy as your loose forwards.

Warburton only because he’s captain, had it not been for that, I’d have SOB in the 7 jersey with Tipuric on the bench. I think the forwards are the least of WG’s worries. Back line combinations seems to be more of a concern.

5 OZ franchise coaches, this is their first gig and its a big jump from nowhere to face of the team.
