Wth 4 Collingwood players included on a 1 point win haha!?
Meanwhile Richmond spanks GWS and has only 1. Let alone Brisbane’s absolute slaughter of finals contender Port.

AFL team of the week: Round 17

Hurn a lock for captain – he’s owed it from last year if anything.
One of Shep or McGov will make it in also I suspect, but not both.

Darling won’t make it unless he has a dazzling end of season, was too poor early in the season.

Yeo unlucky last year but I suspect will be unlucky again this year, Shuey will scrape in and there is no way they will have 2 WC midfielders with all other elite mids they need to choose between.

How can the AFL ‘give in’ to Virtue Signallers when they ARE the biggest [hypocritical] Virtue Signallers themselves

Gillon McLachlan's press conference was an abject failure in providing clarity to the fans

Which players each team has still standing, who has good form and which particular ground each game is played at will all be bigger factors when finalists meet in September.
In the same way I think our run of wins against GWS, Collingwood and GWS will count for very little should we meet them in finals. Season resets, and more favourably so for the top 4 obviously.
Don’t get me wrong having won last outing against a team is better than having lost, but really doesn’t hold as much weight as some put on it imo.

Numbers game: Which teams will rise and fall in the second half of 2019?

By winning 5 in a row – or do victories against lesser opposition only count when Geelong puts them away?
West Coast despite their big losses also easily accounted for GWS and Pies at the G. West Coast are equal second on points despite having the hardest ranked draw so far and having the shortest pre-season. They are clearly finding fitness and form now and notching together wins to make sure they are there to compete at the pointy end.

Full kudos to Geelong for being clear top – but to write off West Coast as a contender is to ignore how the season is actually unfolding and the realities of the draw.

Except that already are now finding this ‘elusive’ form.

Despite easily accounting for them a few games ago – and also beating Collingwood at the G.

2019 AFL Power Rankings: Round 8

But yet if an interstate team were to finish higher and have to fly out to meet Geelong in the GF do you think Geelong would be not loving their unearned home state advantage? Bit hypocritical, can’t have it both ways.
