Not overly fussed where it played and hats off to SA, they taking the biggest risk. Being No1 in the world has to be worth sponsorship $s and they coming over probably under done. They could drop a place or 2 if things go not too good for them

Funny with grace, first game he played for Crusaders he had me as a fan, and funnily enough because of his lineout work more than anything. A kid that is jumping anywhere from No 2 to 6 in lineout and pinching opposition ball is worth looking at, I then started watching rest of his game, and reckon in a couple of years we could have a log jam of players at 6-8.

Think TJ will be on bench with Smith, think they pretty keen on the way he leads a lot of the defence. Reiko has certainly come in over Goodhue and ALB at 13, I know the AB coaches have always said he was a 13 and it was just a matter of time before he went there. Can still take or leave Akira, he certainly improved this year, but struggle to see him in ahead of Sotutu, Savea or Frizzell.

If you read what the coaches say, TJ was always going to start as he had longer rest because of birth of child.

Be careful there Richard, as in NZ any super game is on at 9-30 to 10 kiick off (later from Perth) and really only a minority actually watch games at that time of night too. The NRL even used it as one of the reasons for cutting a Perth team when they had one.

Yep fair enough Rob, look mate I not calling b*** on your ideas, just saying why I not completely comfortable with them, and still most I uncomfortable with is the idea of getting NZ players to come here to dilute them rather than Aus teams stepping up, like they used too!

I not sure either country want their top players being burnt out by other country’s teams. There is a reason the likes of England and Wales etc also go down the route of having to play for local teams. The thing is if you paying top $ for import player, what generally happens is you want you money’s worth out of them, and you don’t get that by leaving petrol in the tank for test season! Perhaps the other little thing is I not sure trying to dilute teams to bring them back to field is maybe just not something I comfortable with, I prefer climbing up and knocking the buggers off their perch.

I understand that Rob, but if we open it up, it has to be open for movements both ways, and I not sure that will have desired effect as we may find some top Aus player will enjoy the experience over there too?

I haven’t read through the whole idea Rob, and although it obviously well thought out I have to ask you why you say NZ has to release players to Australia, yet no where do you suggest Australia should have to do same? I know it maybe something that slipped your mind, but really it shows how we look at things that suit only us. I do think your idea of another couple of teams from NZ while having merit, aren’t we then returning to a bit of a bulky comp that seems to struggle?

I keep asking what 5 teams, Australia had 4 teams in super rugby, remember, and now they want to expand number. I not saying they right or wrong, but saying NZ is wanting them to cut a team to have 4 is plain rubbish, RA is saying we will play if you allow us to expand!!

Was at the Reds/Force game and as kiwi living in Brisbane was supporting the Reds in Super AU, but after that game, am I allowed to say my second team is now the Force!! That was probably the best game I have seen at Suncorp for quite sometime, great advert for the game, which I actually thought all games were on weekend (especially with the Mighty Canes winning)

I agree 5 teams would sound good in Australia, but I also assume that RA will also guarantee the costs of keeping them in comp! Force were dropped last time because RA couldn’t afford 5 teams, I know Twiggy will pay for one, but is RA in financial position to cover 4 teams?? Genuine question, we don’t want another comp starting and have a Force situation again!!

Perhaps you could also ask these 3 why Aus rugby was at it’s most popular when Wallabies went well , and they will probably say the same reason soccer is more popular when Socceroos are going well and getting in the WC.AFL doesn’t have a Wallabies team, but have the vey best AFL players playing in this country, ditto with league, people want the top of any sport!!

Yep Geoff I agree that players who are not getting game time in NZ should be able to play in Aus, and they can as we have both pointed out, even if NZ said selectors could pick from Aus conferences, a; I can’t see anyone hoping to make ABs trying to push his game from Aus anyway, as selectors would put some kind of a mark against him as they probably lose too much control of player, and can guarantee they would not be rested or used as AB selectors would want! I would suggest if Aus teams want Argentina players they need to stop talking and start doing something as it seems that a lot have already signed up north.

Unfortunately I agree with you. Ok we don’t like what the club owners are doing , but who in here thinks we should change season, so we basically lose a lot of money etc. I pissed but understand where they coming from, and aren’t we all seeing the start of it down here with Twiggy supposedly saying there needs to be changes to the laws to make it more attractive if the Force was to play in super going forward? It happens people, and aren’t we all pleased that there is talk that they trying to get more private money put into Aus teams. We saw it happen in soccer here too wheer Clive Palmer poured money into Gold Coast club and pulled it all when he didn’t get things his way!!

Hazel I have heard of people trying the VPN to hide where they come form but when they see where your money comes from I think they stop it. I would love to be able to get it, as only sport I really interested in is Rugby, but I live in Aus so can’t get enough games

Yep so bloody good to see us talking about rugby being up and running vand deciding who is going to win. May have a disappointment or 2 coming up being a Canes man, but I am so happy to just have it happening again. And as I look forward to Super AU starting in a couple of weeks I feel a little spoilt, I have and always will be a Canes man and generally support any kiwi teams during super rugby, in the new one I can be a Reds supporter with nothing to hold me back. So 2 comps with a team in each one I feel I on a winner this season!!!!

I wonder why everyone is surprised it is on. Really have to stop reading headlines in papers and really listen to what is being said more often, and you would realise it was going to play out ok in end. As for RC coming to Aus, as a Kiwi I quite comfortable with that, I understand the different quarantine rules, and more places to have ‘bubbles’ etc for players. And like it or not the game in Australia probably needs the boost of the games here , and we as Kiwis should be wanting the game to be healthy as possible here. I would rather the ABs struggle to win and lose at times against a strong Wallabies team, coming from a strong sport here, than have ‘easier’ wins against a team that is showcasing a sport in decline.
