Yeah I was at the Taj Mahal (leagues club) that day. Was quite messy. In the preceding 22 years I have punched at least 3 storm fans that I can remember for ribbing me over that. Oh definitely George. Yeah, it was probably why Rava made so many mistakes, listening to Dufty “guide the team around the park” like a good fullback should. Forgot to add Aitken and Lodge to that list as well. Waqa Blake could probably get a run and if they were short of numbers in the halves, Sean Johnson would be pushing for selection. Hell, Dugan could even dust of the boots if the outside backs started to get a bit thin.

Forget Schuster, if you want someone who refuses to pass the ball look no further than Euan Aitken. When you’re a centre who is slower than most props, low to the ground and has the footwork of a wheelchair bound 90 year old, you might think that passing to your outside man would a valuable skill.

1. Dufty – technically he’s still running around
2. Ravalawa – how many times can a winger get done for high/late shots
3. James Roberts – really needs no explanation
4. Ramien – not sure why he’s actually ever done to warrant the amount of column inches he’s received
5. Watene-Zelezniak – This guy wanted fullback money and couldn’t get a run at the dogs

I agree, the Warriors threw a bunch of them. That ref needs to pick up his act though, he was rubbish. Good to see Sua got stuck in, he is a great pickup. Suli had a shocker in the first half but he looked like he sorted it out in the second. This Tariq to the storm rubbish has to be a great up. I’d be bringing him of the bench and get rid of Gosiewski. That blokes defence is appalling.

Excellent analysis Mike. Gotta love the way league evolves and eventually comes back around to its old ways. I’m stoked to see the return of classy attacking centres. One of the things I hated the most was watching league try to emulate union and have giant humans in the centres that would just run over people rather than use skill and footwork to get around them. One of my favourite sights of 15-20 years ago was watching Mark Gasnier bamboozle and step around the opposition. Same same Steve Renouf and Mark Coyne. Also good to see see locks not being used as third props anymore. Again, a bit more creativity less battering ram. Also like the majority of Dragons supporters, I’m all for the Hunt to hooker idea allowing Sullivan to play halfback. Hunt would be the perfect combo of ball playing, distribution and ball running when needed. As much as I like Andy McCollough, he’s not going to win you a comp.

You must be a warriors fan if you want to Woods in the 18. Don’t know how they would roll with 2 second rowers on the bench (neither of whom are much chop) and that passenger Kerr in the starting line up.

TPJ – seriously? What wasn’t Aaron Woods or James Tamou available. Talk about dumb left field ideas. Surely Finucane, De Belin, McLean or Safiti would have been a better idea than that knucklehead. Can’t wait to see him give away half a dozen penalties within kicking range and the Blues lose by 4. Hopefully this will be another one added to the list of origin one game wonders.
