Really!? James O’Connor – “Best winger in the world.”
Better than Savea, Ben Smith, George North, Willie le Roux, Brian Habanna etc.?
James O’Connor was overhyped very early in his career and it clearly went to his head. Other than some flaky skills, O’Connor is just an average Super XV winger.

SPIRO: Welcome home prodigal son James O'Connor

Ahhh, as with most things SBW, opinion is pretty evenly divided.
My two cents…
Simply, he is the most naturally talented athlete playing either code…of course the NZRU are going to accommodate him – it would be to their detriment not to.
Will he be a major factor or a bit-part player in the next WC? Who knows…but that’s not the issue.
The uniqueness of SBW is the key here, if he recaptures 2012 form he is on a different level to Nonu. If not, he is the plan B the ABs often lack at WC time.

Williams' exemption important, Hansen says

I think the wallabies really miss two key players – Pocock & Ione. Both would not look out of place in the current ABs team and Pocock in particular was the best in the world in his position. Ione was always a genuine threat and to see him combine with Folau would have been special.
100% agree re the comments about Hooper – he’s a great S15 player and against most international sides, but against the ABs and ‘Boks he lacks the physicality at the breakdown to be effective. Hardly one to throw on the scrapheap though! A truly physical No.6 i.e. in the Kaino mould would help Hooper no end.
Being an ABs fan in BNE I’m not complaining about retaining the Bledisloe, but for the game in general I hope to see a wallabies side which consistently threatens the ABs.
Looking forward to an intriguing game in Perth!
