Jo, How about this for an idea so that media, NRL and fans all get a bit more league. Let’s have the top 6 fight it out for the Premiership and ultimate prize but also run a knockout comp simultaneously for the 10 teams that missed out. It could be called the Artie Beetson shield or similar. Fans would get to see their team go around again (at least one more game). NRL would get more revenue and more games televised is more revenue for media companies. Just a thought.

With all the talk of different clubs he is likely to be at why don’t they hold a ballot and all interested clubs can pay a set amount of money to enter and the winner pulled out of a hat gets his services. Bit like a chook raffle at the pub. Or maybe he can play week about at one of the clubs he has been linked to in the past week. That should fill in the six weeks and he can get a decent weekly salary. Over all the speculation and salary cap crap.

The old salary cap jibe is getting a bit old these days. It is called salary management and maybe a few other club board members should start to do things a bit smarter (pay players what they are worth not what they want to get) to keep up.

Agree totally with you Albo. We have seen the emergence of some really good young blokes over past few rounds and is perfect opportunity with all the injuries at clubs at present to see what talent pool they actually have. Also a lot cheaper option.

But poor old Souths they are right to do what they want as everyone still has to feel sorry for them for when they got booted from the comp all those years ago. Hope an insurance company didn’t have to pay out any money to them for the Inglis medical retirement, because I would say they will now be looking for reimbursement and a fraud investigation started.

The question needs to be asked of the NRL if this was a lesser known NRL player, say a Max King from Melbourne instead of Ado Carr would the same action have been taken? I would say no. That player would have been made an example of and most likely punted from the NRL. The NRL already made it clear they wanted to have the first game back to be one between the Roosters and Rabbitohs so the Latrell Mitchell factor (rivalry) could take place. If Latrell was suspended they would have lost one of their main draw cards. It is time this so called professional sport became professional.
