We need to win the Bledisloe first before we talk about dominating rugby. I guess this weekend we’ll see whether our rugby has improved or not.

Supersport is SA’s Broadcaster, and its their duty to support SA rugby not support SA rugbys partners. They could’ve chosen not to pay for broadcasting rights and withdrawn funding completely resulting in even more broadcasting revenue loss but they didn’t do that. It’s not Supersports perogetive to prop up the other sanzaar nations. Their team wasn’t there so they reduced funding thus meaning SA still got money out of it as they were still contributors

Did NZRU not come out saying that the old Super rugby format no longer suited them,?? Saying that they only want 2 Aussie teams and no SA teams.? NZ lead the charge in disbanding Super Rugby don’t put that on SA. They nearly even alienated Australia , with how forceful they were in how they see the competition going forward.
With regards to Broadcast money, the money in THE sanzaar pot would have been significantly reduced had SuprSprt withdrawn completely and given that they still contributed $$ obviously SA rugby got a share. Why aren’t you angry at NZRU for agreeing to such terms then?
Taking teams to the North long before covid?? Who Cheetahs and kings? Were those teams not kicked from SR along with The Force.?

If they meant it, they would have done so long ago. Plus why not have a back up plan given that their partners constantly suggested kicking them out and forming a trns tsman comp amongst themselves rather?

Likewise I’m sure your coaches and union made what they felt was the right decision at the time, do they regret it? Who knows. The crux of the matter is that they made a decision and that should be respected

They took the 4 mill because their Broadcaster still contributed towards the tournament as I’ve already mentioned, so of course they’ll get a share out of the broadcasting money. Would you have rather had SuprSprt withdraw funds completely and have NZ and Aus lose even more??
Plus im not aligned to them, I’m just struggling to see why there’s all this animosity towards them as them pulling out of the RC honestly wasn’t a big deal

Jacko but they also were treated with distain by their “partners”. Were they also not completely discarded and forced out of Super rugby?? A contract that ran till 2025? Look what’s happend to the Jaguares because of the disbandment of Super rugby, that could have happened to SA teams as well, and do you think NZ and Australia cared what happened to them? No they didn’t. So why should SA rugby care that NZ and Aus lost millions due to SA pulling out of Rugby championship, frankly they owed their partners nothing if we’re being honest. There’s more to this than meets the eye I believe, it was more a personal and emotional reason rather than what they stated in the media. How can you just have such complete disregard to a partner of 25 years yet still expect them to comply and rock up to the Rugby championship?

They weren’t given a special deal, your anger towards them is clouding your judgment. Like I said it’s a Word rugby rule that’s been there since the inception of the ranking system in 2003. If you don’t play you won’t be penalized for it. They’re not the only team who’s points were frozen. Japans points were also frozen along with every other team that didn’t play last year, thats just how the rankings system works and it’s always worked liked that. There was no special deal as you mention

They’re really only being crucified by Aussies and Kiwis. The rest of the rugby world couldn’t be bothered. Question to you Jacko, are you also this angry at the NH teams for not traveling down south last year for July internationals? Don’t forget us down here in the Antipodes were spared the wrath of Covid in comparison to the NH and SA

Mmm I see. I guess they could have pulled out earlier then. Now that I think of it they might have done it out of anger and vindictiveness over the whole Super Rugby situation but that would be me just speculating. Regardless though everyone really needs to get over it and move on. They made their decision, live with it.

Where do you get the info that they ask world rugby to freeze the rankings?? Now you’re just reaching, I understand you’re angry but don’t make up stuff.
If the rankings were frozen, no teams would’ve gained or lost points last year.
It’s a world rugby rule long before covid that if a team doesn’t play nothing happens to their rankings points until they return to play as long as it’s within the 2 year mark afterwhich if they still don’t play then that team will be considered dormant and removed from rankings until they return again but with the exact same amount of points they had before being removed. This rule had nothing to do with SA rugby and has been there since the inception of the rankings

Not sure why everyone down here in the Antipodes is so pressed by the SA rugbys decision to pull the Boks out last year. I mean we’re the only ones having a meltdown, the rest of the Rugby world has moved on. I mean come on. Japan pulled out of the Autumn/8 nations cup last year for the same reasons SA pulled out of the RC, yet you didn’t see the Northern Hemisphere crucify Japan for their Decision,why? Because they respected the decision and moved on with life.

Wait lemme get something straight here. World rugby wouldn’t allow us to play France on the 10th 17th and 24th because the international window ends on the 17th yet the Springboks and Lions are playing till 7th August?? French clubs want their players back yet will be without their Boks and Lions players till the conclusion of the lions tour

@woodart Nope pro 14 hasn’t told them to sod off, not sure where you got that from. Border restrictions meant their teams couldn’t participate in the European leg of the Pro 14 RainbowCup which is why the competition has been split into Pro14 RainbowCup SA and Pro 14 Rainbow North, with Pro 14 Ceo stating that the expanded Pro16 featuring the SA teams starts in September and confirmation will be made soon depending on travel restrictions. Also French media reporting SA teams will be part of the European champions cup from next season. So not sure where you get your info on Northern hemisphere not wanting them. Their future looks way brighter than ours atm

@Jacko Lol Nz started this whole thing. They were the driving force behind sanzaar breaking up at SR level. Why on earth are you getting angry at the Saffas for for finding alternatives for themselves. Plus what does the Rugby championship have to do with Super rugby. Just because there’s no SR doesn’t mean the RC will dissolve. Your anger in misdirected mate ????????????????. I’m actually relieved that they’ve chosen to stay in the Rugby championship
