Everyones missing the point that the AFL is massively cashed up and will continue to dominate the sporting landscape in Australia for the next 20 years. Time to combine ARU and NRL and shake up the market and collectively work together. It would give us a combined 700 professional player base to choose a national side!

A merger between rugby codes, I totally agree, its out of left field , innovative but totally plausible in Australia’s modern sporting code landscape! Besides decent scrums and lineouts the game is becoming very similar. It would allow both codes to tackle the cashed up AFL powerhouse that dominates. We would then have a combined 700 professional rugby players to choose from and would really shake up the global game.

Steve Sorry your wrong! There are plenty of exceptional athletes playing Australian Rules and NRL. In fact if we had that talent to choose from IMHO we would be very hard to beat. We have here in Australia a small population with the most competitive sporting market in the world.
