Yep correct regarding ya last statement, they lost by 9 but had 1 more scoring shot. I’m so tempted to write something on those st Kilda days, they did a excellent job picking up star players from the draft.
The 2007-2011 cats were something else (I could be bias) but 4 chances at a premiership and purely dominating the home and away season. They had star players everywhere. The 2008 one was unfortunate, Hawthorn somehow won due to Dew magic and inaccurate cats goal kicking. The saints were excellent too, just couldn’t finish on the big dance unfortunately.

Yep, funnily enough in 2004 and 2005 they lost to eventual premiers. Then could have had 2 more in 2009 and 2010, who knows. 4 flags in 6 years, a saints dynasty that never happened.

Yep, he did incredibly well against a couple of the best defenders in the league, Pat Bev, Kawhi, Pg and is dominating teams that don’t have A good defender. Hopefully it’s the next step and he gets a bit more consistent. I’d rather he performed in the playoffs then the regular season unlike other players. Playoff defence is elite compared to the poor defence of the regular season.

Agree completely PTS, I wouldn’t be surprised if they said Grundy was managing a injury. If so just rest him? His second efforts are gone and although he wins the hit outs they aren’t very effective anymore.

So is a 47 point turnaround even? I wouldn’t blame that much of a lead on 2 men down but we will see what happens.

What prevented the Cats injuries I’d reckon where to us cycling players over the short day breaks, Collingwood didn’t do a lot of it and maybe where punished later on.

Then again, those teams were coming up against elite teams. Port were facing a Geelong team that won 3/5 premierships and lost 2008 thanks to Dew. Richmond have dominated the past years, but you would hope they would be a little more competitive.

Wass, Bulldogs have beaten the easy teams, not the elite teams. The west coast game they dominated But it was a bit expected considering west coasts injuries. For. the geelong game, I’d argue and say Geelong were the better team for 3 quarters, would the 2 men down help them, who knows.

Goddard, dal santo and Lyon Wouldn’t have left so they could be competing for a couple more years as well. I’m not actually sure how they managed to fit all that talent in 1 lineup but it could have been due to reduced salaries.
