Great article, I was thinking of the Windies of old yesterday. You are spot on.

Test Mortem: Green’s golden status fading as batting unit becomes fragile, Windies need help to kick on from Gabba glory

Why would Waugh resign. He won’t get a job that pays him as well where can be incompetent.

'Completely unfair': Eddie sledge that angered Waugh, new coaching contenders emerge to rebuild Wallabies

Take it off the umpires and rename it. It is the only award given by neutrals and has always been. That is it’s beauty and downfall.

COMMENT: Lachie Neale's baffling win proves it's time to take Brownlow voting off the umps

No, but it was unrealistic that he could actually smother the ball. I am happy to be wrong but Brayshaw was his focus as much as the ball. This was not an accident.

TOM MORRIS: Inside the AFL's call to overrule MRO on Maynard - and how Tribunal verdict will shape the game

If Maynard had smothered the ball it would not be talked about. He didn’t smother so no football action was performed, just an attempt at one. 3 weeks minimum.

Elite professional athletes doing what they have to do to win a game. the managed to take the other 19 wickets as well.
Now I know more about the term “whinging pom”.

The spirit of cricket was murdered in cold blood by sunburnt thugs - and the game might never recover

Before rushing into a 19th team, ensure the 18 teams are competitive

The Bible like most holy books is great for supporting your own prejudices by cherry picking. It is against tattoos as well, ignored by Israel for some reason.

Folau: It's a messy, complicated and still fiercely-disputed story. But mostly it's just sad

Tasmania will have three AFL stadiums which send a bit excessive. Having seen games at York park it is a lovely ground and quite adequate, expand it and it will be even better. Never been to Bellerive so not sure about it. Making a team that is competitive will be the problem as there is not 18 competitive teams at the moment.

Tasmania doesn't need a new stadium - shame on the AFL for forcing us into building one

Jeremy Cameron is a beast, and would kick goals in any team.

Just like EPL fans get to have their say, who would get your vote if AFL had 'Player of the Month'?

Excellent review. As a Tigers fan , I am happy where we are , but this may be our eventual leader outfitting. We need to improve and have time. Disappointed by Tim Taranto’s kicking, but he was no orphan. Love seeing the Saints so high, Ross the boss famously said” Blighty lost his first three GF’s”. Good luck to them.
Can’t believe I am also supporting Collingwood but they play irresistible football and they have some genuinely A grade players.
Best of luck tipsters.

Power Rankings Round 3: Bashful Brisbane, Resurgent Dogs, and Stupendous Saints

Renshaw would have been better served by playing him last summer instead of Warner against South Africa and the Windies. A chance to play in his home conditions, develop confidence before travelling to India.
It has always been harder to get dropped from the Australian team than selected, and still is.

Timing is everything: Renshaw mounts late Ashes bid as pressure mounts on selectors to make call on Warner

Congratulations to Shane Edwards on his 300th game. Hopefully the Tigers can get up for him like they did last year for Jack’s 300th. Against the same opposition, coincidence or what?

AFL News: Lethal Leigh blasts rulemakers for tearing game apart, De Goey returns, Wines backs Hinkley

Spot on. Watch the player run from the goal square after a point. Then the next time they kick it to a bloke who is sometimes half the distance they ran previously. Stop playing short kicks as marks will make the game more exciting too

AFL House does it again - creating more problems than they solve

What an amazing win after being put under pressure in the second set. Ash never showed her emotions and dug deep, and produced an amazing comeback in the second set. A deserved champion, humble and gracious in victory. Well done you good thing.

Thanks rowdy. That made me laugh out loud.

Six talking points from AFL Round 1

Bevo, worry about the social distancing your players did during the game. Control what you can control

Luke Beveridge questions the need for Collingwood's bizarre 'social distancing' club song rendition

I was fortunate to meet Lies when he played for Valleys in Brisbane through his younger brother Michael. A genuinely likeable and humble person. Great to hear of his amazing journey.

Aussie abroad: Les Kiss

Ban Bulgaria from all competetions, including their domestic teams. Financial losses from UEFA competitions will hurt them more than banning fans.

UEFA must send a message after Bulgarian racism storm

A well written article. I am a sports fan, love a good contest and enjoyed this game, even allowing for the human errors involved. The trainer incident was the most unfortunate thing that happened and can and needs to be addressed by the NRL. The AFL got rid of runners and it was about time. They occupy space, and are unnecessary.
I have also umpired local Aussie Rules for 14 years and do not criticise umpiring or refereeing decisions, as I know how hard it is to do. If you want to criticise these decent people, go and volunteer as an official in your local area, regularly, and i challenge you to do it without making a mistake. Impossible.

Ben Cummins is a good man and a great referee – so lay off him!
