Cheika always unhappy with the reffing. Was hoping he would grow out of it. Apparently, even after 20 years, he has not…

Fozzie was one Test away from being sacked - now he's 80 minutes away from World Cup glory as ABs smash Pumas

Hmmm unless the Wahs beat the the Broncos…but we will always be near the top in any game that is only played in Australia (unless Eddie is coaching)….

Five Things: Eddie's mad scientist coaching group exposed - but Wallabies won't fear Wales like Fiji

A real shame for rugby and those that uphold the laws and are genuinely concerned for the well-being of the players. No-one thinks this is the right decision other than the review panel and it puts every official and referee on notice that something as blatant as this may well get over-turned so don’t trust your lying eyes…. very, very disappointing and if I was a barrister I would use this as an example as to why my client suffering brain damage should get a very large pay out from the IRU….

'Mockery', 'broken game', 'laughing stock': Rugby rages as red card reversal clears Owen Farrell for World Cup

Agreed, spin plays well for pollies and one eyed fans but journalists? not some much….

SRP QF talking points: The 'crushing fail' Australia must avoid, Tahs duo who can seal World Cup tickets

Good commentary Jim and a little more realistic than some of the tosh served up by others in the SMH pretending the Tahs are on some sort of Jones inspired resurgence. The only Aussie team with a sniff is the Brumbies who should eke out a win against a passionate Canes side which will probably not have enough gas in the tank after a short rest, tough final pool game and the away travel. The Tahs will try hard after the embarrassment of last week but have neither the structure or the talent to get over the Blues but will bring a bunch of physicality to the pitch. The reds will be much like the dogged Highlanders – brave and willing, but only hanging in there for the first 60 minutes or so. Should be a comfortable victory for the Chiefs who will be looking for a proper hit out before the really tough matches start in the semis. There is a prospect that all of the Aussie teams will lose this weekend which will make from some dire prognostics with the World Cup so close, but the internationals in-between will be real measuring stick…..

I understand the merit of staying positive but there is also value in having honest discussion. My view is that Nawaqanitawase is a great athlete, just not a top level rugby player. And yes I did play rugby (albeit in NZ) so i totally understand how important attitude is but also you can’t guild the lily and suggest that the Waratahs have been anything other than poor this season. They have beaten lesser teams but have been beaten by the good teams. Smashed by the Crusaders, Hurricanes and Blues. The only NZ team they beat was the Highlanders, the lowest in the table and then only by 1 point. So was Marky Mark playing well in a mediocre team or was he playing at the same level as his team. I would say the later – great with space and ball in hand but the number of times he was beaten, failed to stop a player in a tackle, or tackled too late as a opposition player slide over the try line was significant. I hope Eddie can do some magic but the way the Australian Super Rugby teams have performed does not augur well….

Five things we learned: Waratahs coach's test of faith for QF, one blessing for Eddie from poor season

Foley and Gordon uninspired choices… seems Rennie is having to throw the dice and I don’t fancy his chances or that of the Wallabies… would need a lot of luck to go their way…and perhaps milk a few more penalties and cards from being ‘slapped’. Just don’t think this is the team to break the hoodoo but there is some starch up front – suspect they will play with passion but fall comfortably short….
