A Coach can only preach his message for a limited amount of time no matter how good he is and unfortunately for Richmond that’s the situation with Hardwick. Their situation is further complicated by the fact that a large number of their senior list have achieved virtually everything there is to achieve in the AFL and it becomes harder for the coach to get them motivated after such a long period of success. I don’t expect them to be the dominating force they have been for at least a couple or more seasons.

How does Ratugolea continue to get a game at Geelong? He would be the dumbest player in the AFL at the moment by a country mile. He has no idea of Ruck play, can’t mark, his kicking is substandard, he fumbles the ball consistently, falls over regularly without being under pressure. Generally he is just footy dumb and a passenger that Geelong cannot afford to carry.

Why on earth would Ross Lyon want to coach Carlton? It would be less painful poking his eye out with a stick. Clearly Teague will go and most probably in the next couple of weeks despite what the President has said. Blind Freddy can see that the players are not responding to his message nor his game plan, whatever that is or even if they have one, The way they are currently playing suggests they don’t have one.
As for the players, their upper echelon are obviously not doing enough and several of them need a good kick up the backside given the money they’re on. As for the rest, let’s face it there are some fairly average at best who would not get into any of the top four or five sides going around.
Carlton will struggle to attract a proven senior Coach given the lack of candidates around at present and may well find themselves having to select someone from of the cohort of very good assistant coaches waiting in the wings.

The theory doing the rounds re the review not being solely about Teague is probably true but you can all rest assured that it will certainly include whether he continues as Senior Coach. Carlton are after Clarkson make no mistake and I would like to be as sure of winning Lottto that he will be the Senior Coach at Carlton next year.

Personally I couldn’t care less for Korda or Browne and I’m sure that there are other worthy candidates that could and would lead Collingwood as well if not better than either of them.

Fair comment re Clarkson and Mitchell, although I’m inclined to think that if Clarkson is finished at Hawthorn then Mitchell would be the logical replacement. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see, either way I have no doubt that Buckley will not be extended.
The case against reappointing Nathan Buckley
Buckley was a great player who achieved what he did due to his dedication and fierce ability to compete. As a Coach he has , at best, been average to at times good. Unfortunately, his methods and message to the players have become stale and outdated and in fact he should’ve been moved on before this. Arguably his situation has not been assisted by the bungling incompetence of the Board and administrative hierarchy at Collingwood. I have no doubt that he won’t be reappointed and will be replace by Ross Lyon in 2022.

Obviously those commentators that particular club affiliations are going to be biased to a certain extent. The one’s that annoy me are those that regularly say ridiculous comments and who often treat us the viewing public like idiots who know little or nothing about the game. Brian Taylor readily comes to mind. I am of the opinion that he is rapidly going senile.

Agree wholeheartedly re your comment on Kennett, he is and always has been a BOOFHEAD. He is typical of the “Born to Rule” conservative class and Hawthorn would be wise to give him the flick before Mitchell takes over.
