I’m a firm believer that all that damage To Australian rugby was done 20 years ago, Jones and McLellan – whilst unfortunately appearing totally inept – are at the helm when RA is in its death throes. What I can see, is at least they are making an attempt to get new blood into the big squad. If they are to be taken seriously beyond this then we need to see solid investments back in to club and sub division rugby this year. I’m not privvy to what goes on behind the closed doors, but this could be the beginning of the reality of what many Australian rugby fans have been after for years, one step backwards 2 steps forward. If Indeed there is a consideration for growth in Australian rugby then this world cup campaign is the beginning of that journey.

I sincerely hope so.
