I think in some circumstances that’s ok.
But when it’s conduct that has an inherently high risk of serious harm and involves a deliberate choice, like Milne’s tackle (if you can even call it that), it’s got to be a penalty sufficient to discourage the action regardless of the outcome.

Tacklers who go in upright especially to an equally tall hard running carrier have a high chance of a head knock. It’s not rocket science.

“I get criticised about it all the time,” Inglis admitted on Queenslanders Only.

Yeah, I try to stay away from criticising refs and the judiciary but this year seems to have a greater degree of inconsistency than usual.

Agree, a lot of the imagery seems to miss the point of ANZAC Day. Certainly, it is not meant to celebrate combat. As you say, it should celebrate peace and give thanks for service.

Surely one of the first things you learn about passing, even in backyard footy – don’t throw a pass that might be intercepted! If the defence is rushing up out wide, a few short kicks in behind will sort that out.
