Best ever 9 for me. His game is flawless and he’s been consistent for over a decade and he’s won almost everything. Some 9s may do elements of the game better than AS does but he has no weakness.

The abs putting an absolute clinic on against their old foe, getting the basics of set piece, ruck management and catch and pass just about perfect in that first half. Hard to know what to make of this Saffer unit, very odd starting your second best players in some positions, it worked on their armchair ride at the last rwc but NZ France and Ireland won’t let them progress this time. One mild concern (is it a concern or just inevitable?) Is that given the pace they played at and the age profile of the Abs most important and irreplaceable player – Aaron Smith, do the Abs need something extra when his alloted 50/60 is done? the energy levels definitely dip in the 2nd half and as good as Findlay is, he is replacing the best scrum half to ever lace boots.

I hate this decision, I’m not Sexton’s biggest fan, he’s as smug as any player I’ve ever seen in this sport and that grin walking out of the panel said it all. This is rugby, we’re supposed to be better than he was on that day. If Sexton was South African, Kiwi, English or Aussie the world wide press would have been baying for his career to be over, but he’s a lovable Irish rogue so he misses three games he wouldn’t have started anyway
