Thanks for the update. There are similarities between what each players association is seeking but the percentile difference is stagerring. The players are the ones who draw the crowds through the gate, risk their health on the field and produce the spectacle. We often consider AFL players underpaid in the context of international sport but looking at the percentage of revenue AFL players are seeking, I think you summed it up pretty well. If the AFL continue to play hard ball, the AFLPA should increase that 25-27% demand.

Give the players what they want, it’s not very much and it sounds very reasonable. If the players choose to strike, I would support them 100% even if it meant we lost a pre-season competition. I hope AD pulls his head in.

As NFL lockout ends, AFL should take note

No room for Kumar Sangakara? He may not have batted with the tail as much as Gilchrist or Knott but he wicketkept to Murali for all those years and is an impeccable batsman.

ICC spits on the history of the game

“Port Adelaide – Troy Chaplin – 0”

bahahahahahahahahahah. when troy chaplin is your best player you know your in trouble!

One man club is a no hope strategy

When umpires make 1500 decisions a game with three or four incorrect calls, that is just human. To have a team of full time umpires, it will cost the league over $2million to have umpired for 8 games each week (assuming they are on 60k sallaries)

Thats hardly worth it to reduce the incorrect decions by 1 or 2. What happens when they get it wrong?

Why the AFL needs full-time umpires

Big call here – Adelaide will challange. They have a similar team with no out and out stars but everyone contibutes. Few players in the 22 have peaked and they are very well coached.

Too many of Geelongs players have peaked.

Who will be a genuine challenger for Magpies?

Gold Coast would not have beaten the dees or roos on the weekend but probably would have beaten the lions.

They’ll probably win more games than the lions this year.

Why Gold Coast Suns will win a game

How can that be a good measure? Mark Thompson knows the Geelong game better than anyone.

It would not be a fair game.

Youth may be the answer, but not for Cats

Rance was impressive. If the Waite substitution has any imputus on Rance being rubbed out, it will be a disgrace.

AFL players who face a make-or-break 2011

Hampson only played in the ruck for about 15 minutes in the 2nd and 3rd quarters combined. But when he went forward he had as much forward pressence as the goal upmire.

Unlikely to hold his spot when kreuzer returns. Warnock was fantastic.

Substitution rule almost costs Ratten the game
