No one will change this team as long as the protagonists are constantly being wrapped in cotton wool every time there is an issue. Walker is always looked at as a part of the issue, he may be, but I’d say getting rid of Mitchell will solve most of the issues.

Demetriou facing sack after Souths' disastrous start with Bennett, Bellamy, Burgess possible replacement options

LM has painted the target on his own back with some of his tactics on and off the field. Yes he is aggressive, he isn’t playing handball, but some of his uncontrolled aggression is downright dangerous. His defensive attitude in both the hits on Manu and JAC were reckless and irresponsible brain explosions of which no one else can be held accountable for. He is a train wreck about to happen. The media is not responsible for his self induced headline stories, he himself is both creator and narrator of any negativity. As for the Mundine crap, there probably isn’t a more passionate aboriginal sports person in regards to culture than Mundine, his only attempt was to pull LM into line, and if he can’t then nobody can. I’d also say that Walker is more of a result of the LM influence than the opposite.

'I don't know what goes through Latrell's mind': Mitchell on report twice as Wahs dominate sorry Souths

I’m not blind Tom, you watch the specsavers adds? Two for the price of one at the moment. Give it a go, put a set on for fatty and the other on your coach.

Getting value for money from stars is the biggest competitive advantage in the NRL - and the flip side can be devastating

The problem with Schuster is he has a massive ego, he believes and even exceeds the belief that others have in him. One bad “magic” play doesn’t come off and he goes missing. He is not a team player, everything he does is for him. To be injured and not available as often as he is, is a great pointer to his inabilty to gain peak fitness.

The bulldogs problem isn’t just having a quality 7, they also lack a quality six. While at it let’s throw in a 1 lacking any real standout talent. Burton obviously wanted to play 6 but Luai was the standout because of his playing relationship with Cleary. Burton was moved to centre because of his obvious talent, won a premiership and DM centre of the year. Canterbury offered him the 6 and an upgrade on his contract, so he did what most would do and signed. He hasn’t lived up to the hype and has stifled nearly all of their backline, except for the odd occasion. They have a 7 in Sexton, more needing a 6 if anything.

I dont really care for either team. My initial response was to a comment insinuating NAS is an awesome player.. he’ll get his normal 20 minutes off the bench.

NRL Power Rankings: Round 4 - Tigers in finals mix? Panthers’ challengers falling by the wayside, Roosters lay an egg

He rarely rates a mention on any NRL news, so no I haven’t noticed.

No, on current form. Keep an eye out for the Mam highlights real Thursday night/ Friday morning. And I’m not a Brisbane supporter btw. Melbourne have an apparent awesome player that you have mentioned, starting on the bench and to come on and terrorise the little players running around the ruck, apart from that and bashing drunks in Bali, he is dog average. And they constantly run out the worst backrower in the comp in Loeira. Good luck Thursday, if they win then you can bag me, but I doubt very much to hear anything.

New year, new dawn. I’m in no way a Bronco’s supporter, but their left hand attack will rip Melbourne to pieces. NAS has also been ripped as a player not performing, even to the statement that it’s ” not good enough” as reported on fox. He’s a little man crusher but goes missing everytime the pressure is on. He likes little blokes running through the ruck or beating up drunks in Bali. Definitely not in anyone’s “AWESOME” bracket, not even in Melbourne’s bracket apparently. The storm pack is average at best . Loeira is the worst back rower in the comp, shows what little depth they have. Keep dreaming mate, Mam highlights real come Thursday night.. guaranteed.

Round 5 upcoming and the Storm have had 2 home games and won by margins of 8 and 4, and an away game beaten by Newcastle and a bye. They will have another home game this round against Brisbane. The broncos will give them a hammering.

Totally agree regarding Fafita. I watched his involvement when he came on, he appeared to have no interest, lazy and zero passion.

I haven’t read anywhere that anyone agrees with blocking the defence, only the complete opposite. Penrith initiated it and the league have come up with a rule to outlaw it. The panther brainstrust has come up with a possible way of protecting Cleary of the late shots he OFTEN receives and some still find a reason to have a sook. If the Roosters don’t win the premiership this year then it definitely won’t be next year or maybe many years to follow. I’d even say bottom 4 next year with the players leaving and the age of some of those that will still be there.

NRL's kick-blocker crackdown changes the game - but the question is do we want that?

Grapes not in season?

And in that instance if the markers touch the dummy half on his way to the kicker it should be deemed as interference to a support player, ending in a penalty to the attacking side. The argument there is that the kicker was dummying to kick and the dummy half was attempting to run behind the kicker. As I mentioned earlier it’s a master-class solution by the panthers and will be a win win outcome.

Totally agree. The tactic is obviously to stop the markers chasing, which is what all the teams attempt to do in putting extra pressure from a shorter distance on the kicker. If the kicker is 5 metres behind the play the ball, that’s 15 metres to the defence, unlikely they put any real pressure on. Good service with the pass and then making a “straight” beeline to the kicker basically takes the markers out of the kick pressure.

Penrith’s play to have the dummy half run towards Cleary or whoever may be kicking, is a master-class. It will never be penalised, there is nothing to say that the dummy half is not performing a run-around play with the kicker. Last tackle play does not always have to be kicked.

If I recall in the last year or so they were favourites then too. Sorry won’t happen this year either as premiers. They beat a hyped up broncos, lost to Manly of all teams and flogged a useless rabbits team. Tonight Tedesco and Walker will be targeted, Radley will lose it as usual, and he along with JWH will go missing. I’ll give them 20 minutes of being a premiership team tonight.

Roosters can fly all the way to NRL title if Walker continues to accelerate career trajectory at rapid pace

This will be a good game early, hard and tight defence. The roosters may prevail early in the hit out with a bit of magic making the difference in the first 20. A new combination on Penrith’s right edge will take time to gel in attack, but in defence they will be solid. Martin and Tago will be hard to crack, lifting in intensity to cover for Schneider who hasn’t been tested in their system. Tedesco is a middle to left edge attacker mainly and I can’t see him doing any damage on that side, Kerry either. Walker will be targeted and I doubt he will have the same influence he has had in earlier games. MOTM for me will be Mitch Kenny, he is a dynamic defender and will stitch up the middle and anyone who wants to run at him.

The “bend your back” reasoning is a ridiculous assumption that it would have had a different outcome. Bending would have had the possibility of two situations happening, his knees would have come up while in the air, or his head would have been lowered, maybe even both. There then would have been cause to call this incident anything other than an accident. Mays’ injury was to the underside of his chin, not the front which indicates he was pulling his head back prior to contact, otherwise it would have been face to face contact. Both players heads were in all probability thrown back at the time of contact, otherwise how would Walshs’ cheek hit the UNDERSIDE of Mays’ chin? In those circumstances how could the blame be cast upon May, it’s just as probable that Walsh contributed to what happened.

Game’s gone soft, huh? League's tough enough without dangerous incidents getting feather touch from judiciary

Finucane lead with his head with his back bent.. totally different to what happened in this instance. Mays’ injury was to the underside of his chin, not on his face which would indicate it was nothing more than an accident. Imagine if he had actually incorporated the new “bend the back” hogwash in that scenario, his forehead would have caused more damage. That would be deemed wreckless, intentional and dangerous. In the millisecond that it happened, what proof is there that it wasn’t Walsh’s head that caused the impact?
