If that is what Port are willing to pay for, then they need to cough up the first round picks, because at 19 he isn’t worth half that.

Trade BOMBSHELL: Roos' No.1 pick seeking return home

He can go through the PSD, but North have the first pick, so he risks going to North anyway. Also, it is my understanding that if he retires he can’t return to the AFL for at least 5 or 6 years without a deal being struck with North as he will still be an unrestricted free agent.

Trade BOMBSHELL: Roos' No.1 pick seeking return home

He doesn’t become an unrestricted free agent until after his seventh season so I think we can make his footy life miserable until then. Force Port to pay overs on a deal and if we don’t get what we want, hold him to his contract next season. Again, if we don’t get what we want in a trade next season, match the deal Port (or Adelaide) put on the table and have him play VFL for the next 5/6 years. It’s time North play hard ball and ensure we come out on top in any deal, and while it may come across as a little petty, I say but who cares, we have the cap space at the moment, let’s hold this kid’s career to ransom.

Trade BOMBSHELL: Roos' No.1 pick seeking return home

I said, season over. We got a little further than I expected, but halfway through the first half I was resigned to another failed season. Oh well, bring on season 37.

Take a breath, Eels fans: No reason to hit panic button as Arthur can get more out of this team

I have been watching the Parra girls play all season and have been very impressed with them, even though they got off to a bad start they have improved in every game and now look like a very tight, well drilled unit. Front and centre is our Captain Simaina Taufa who reminds me of “Mr Perpetual Motion Mr Price” because she is always in the game, continually takes the heavy hits but refuses to buckle and gives 100% for the full 70 minutes, she is a very inspiring leader, much like Ray Price in the 1980’s. I think if they can replicate last week performance against the Roosters we are a very good chance. As for the guys, what a frustrating season it has been, but we have made it to the big dance, we are playing some of best football at the right time of the season for a change. We have proven this year that we can beat the Panthers, hopefully the occasion doesn’t frighten us and we can go out there on Sunday night and do it again. Go Parra. 😊

An open letter to Eels fans: Dare to dream on this tale of two Grand Final journeys

Milk or not, he was held and therefore should have been a penaltry.

NRL News: Annesley admits refs made THREE costly try blunders, Why Tino spurned Samoa, Carty to spoil party

Actually, Annesley admitted the refs made FOUR costly try blunders. The one you forgot to mention was when Moses was held in the ruck, and Leilua crossed over to score in the corner. Annesley said it should have been a penalty to Parramatta.

Everybody made mistakes in that game, including the referee, the biggest one was the sinbinning Taumalolo. He was given 4 weeks for that hit which suggests that it should have been a send off and not a sinbinning, a massive error that could have cost Parramatta a place in Grand Final.

Moses misses birth of daughter as Eels seal Grand Final berth while Taumalolo faces World Cup ban for high shot

Parra only lost by two points the last time they played and have shown improvement each week. Not saying they will win but they are in this up to their ponytails.

NRL preliminary finals talking points: Eels rope the Cowboys, Panthers trap the Bunnies

Clarkson and Fagan haven’t even had a opportunity to give their side of the story but already the “righteous” journalists are coming out with articles calling for their heads. Innocent until proven guilty is out the window in this country, welcome to the new Australia, where just an accusation can have you heading to the guillotine.

If these allegations are proven true, then I don’t want Clarkson anywhere near my club and I would hope that Dr. Sonja Hood and the board are looking at possible replacements in that eventuality, but until then I’m going to hold off making rash claims about the guilt or innocence of some men for actions that seem to go totally against their character.

I also hope that Dr. Hood and the board are looking at conducting a similar review regarding the treatment of Indigenous players at the NMFC, we have a long and proud history of indigenous representation that North, my memories of great Indigenous players in the Royal Blue and White goes as far back as Barry Cable in his final year in 1977 and there have been so many exciting players that have followed. I sincerely hope that all these players feel a sense of pride in wearing the NMFC jersey and where not treated as poorly as reported in that report.

North Melbourne and Brisbane must sack Clarkson and Fagan after Hawthorn racism revelations

Actually it 13-8, but Penrith scored immediately after both Lane ( at 58:47) and Moses (at 59:04) where interchanged due to HIA. Check the game play by play on the NRL website. It seemed to take Parra about 3/4 minutes to recover but by that time the game was over, Penrith had scored twice.

Is that the best you can do, Brad Arthur?

Wright only found the ball in her vicinity because the Adelaide player threw the ball towards her, in full view of the umpire. Didn’t make any attempt to handball at all and theumprie let it go. It’s terrible to watch sometimes. You have to wonder if the umpires go through a review process after each game because we aren’t seeing any improvement and the same mistakes are being each week.

AFLW Wrap: 'Future of the game' stars for Dogs, and the 'unheard of' stat making Brisbane unbackable flag fancies

The AFL has made a bit of mess of the AFLW, and it’s not about the players and skills they showcase which are improving every year, it’s the quality of the umpiring which is heading further south every year. The elite women’s competition in the country deserves a more professional team of umpires than what they have at the moment and until it starts to get called out by supporters and the media (and perhaps the coaches and clubs) I can’t see the AFL doing anything to improve the standard we are seeing and the AFLW and the quality of the games will continue to suffer.

AFLW Wrap: 'Future of the game' stars for Dogs, and the 'unheard of' stat making Brisbane unbackable flag fancies

I wouldn’t say Penrith blew us off the park, they were the better team, especially in the second half but it wasn’t until both Lane and Moses were off with HIH that Penrith really got on top and scored those two quick tries. Whether we progress any further depends on Moses’s health because Arthur isn’t really answer at halfback.

Is that the best you can do, Brad Arthur?

The Fox commentator, Andrew Voss, is one of the worst and most negative commentators in the game, there was nothing wrong with Gutho’s pass to Sivo that lead to the Eels third try, but all he did was talk about the pass being forward. The replay showed it wasn’t forward and his fellow commentators didn’t think it was forward, but he wouldn’t let up. It’s a shame all the great commentators have retired.

Eels seal top-four spot as Gutho and Brown double act blows Storm away

As a 50 year supporter of Parramatta I’d be embarrassed to have been awarded the 2009 Premiership. Melbourne don’t deserve the title because they were massive cheats and we don’t deserve because we weren’t the best team that season.

Eels shouldn't have 36-year drought: Why Parra and Manly deserve Storm’s stripped salary cap trophies

I find it interesting that so many people have been interested in the Cripps/Ah Chee incident yet no one even raised an eyebrow when Ben McKay was kicked in the head against Gold Coast earlier in the season. The umpires didn’t care (or at least that is how it appeared as none of them checked to see how he was doing) and allowed Gold Coast to play on and kick a goal. The MRO called it a accident and no penalty was issued. Either the head is sacrosanct and every incident is treated as serious or we go back to bad old days. At the moment it is all too confusing.

The AFL refuses to protect the head. Some clubs appear to care little about what’s in it

I started supporting North Melbourne in the mid 70’s, supercoach Ron Barassi had already led us to our first premiership, and was working towards a second. Speaking with other supporters who remember that period they all said the recruitment of Barassi was single most important decision the club had ever made, he brought some legitimacy to club, gave it direction and gave the supporters hope that success was a possibility. Fifty years later and I feel we are the same position we were in 1972 and this mornings announcement of supercoach Clarkson joining the club for the next five seasons can have a similar effect on the club and supporters as that of 1972. I’d like to congratulate and thank our President Dr Sonja Hood and this brilliant coup, she has proven to be very determined in her pursuit of Clarkson and showed great patience and class when the Essendon debacle took centre stage this week. There is no guarantee that success will follow Clarkson to North, but we are finally heading in a positive direction and after the last five or so years I can feel hopeful for the future. Go North

'A real watershed moment for our club': Roos rejoice as Clarko signs on, Hird to Bombers rumours grow stronger

Nice to see an article on this website about the North Melbourne Football Club that is well written and well researched and not full of lies, biased opinion and genuine bile from it’s author. I’ll be surprised if you have long career on this website. All the best.

Arden Street: Bottoming out in Covid, 6-6-6 and priority picks

I think the McKay brothers want to play with each other and not against each other, so Ben will end up at Carlton or Harry at North. For the Pies to obtain both they would need get rid of a lot of salary cap. Do they have space?

Six Points: Time to crack down on Tomahawk's tactic, and why this Kangaroo deserves an All-Australian gig

Finally! Someone has noticed Ben McKay. Despite three terrible seasons for the footy club, McKay’s improvement at fullback has been fantastic and he hasn’t played 50 games yet, that milestone will be reached this weekend.

Six Points: Time to crack down on Tomahawk's tactic, and why this Kangaroo deserves an All-Australian gig

Does anyone really believe the $1.6m price tag for Clarkson? It’s almost a quarter of the soft cap, and there is no way that Clarkson would take up that much of the soft cap if he believes North have a genuine chance of winning a Premiership, and he wouldn’t come home if he didn’t. This is just a stupid made up figure, I assume, by one of the most unreliable and untrustworthy of AFL Reporters, Tom Browne. I have no doubt that if Clarkson signs up to coach his former club, he will be the highest paid coach, but I would think $1.0-1.2m is closer to the mark.

AFL News: Rashford's Sherrin photo sparks FA photo-op ban, Clarkson's huge price tag revealed as North circle

The really sad thing about the 14 game losing streak is that it barely makes the top 10 losing streaks in North Melbourne’s VFL/AFL history. There are two over thirty and another five between 15 and 20. Still, we aren’t St. Kilda. 😁

Empty words and over the top celebrations: Here's how low North Melbourne have fallen

I agree Noble was a mistake, but I guess that can happen when you take a chance on an untried coach, hopefully with a new board and a new President they won’t be making the same mistake. To say he unfairly lost his job is ludicrous, after a positive showing in the second half of last season, the warning signs should have been flashing after a terrible pre season, but the fact they took until after round 17 to act is probably the bigger mistake. His tenure wasn’t working, it was causing all kinds of tension at the club, and probably not great for Noble and his family either, it should have looked at and acted on towards the end of Buckley’s reign and not left to the new President.

Empty words and over the top celebrations: Here's how low North Melbourne have fallen

After North received their first ever number 1 pick last year, I think Port Adelaide are the only club who have yet to receive one. Not a bad effort for a small club that has had to fight hard almost 100 years to remain competitive in this league.
