Better make it a night grand final, the shadow during the day makes it horrible to watch on tv.

Here's where the 2020 AFL grand final should be held

They have had a tough draw so far. 5/7 vs teams most wouldn’t write off yet – wins vs cats and pies. Losses vs lions, dogs and power. Another tough game this week prob only leaves 1 or 2 more finalists. Fewest turnovers seems like a silver lining to me. Contracts might be the more difficult problem.

The Giants aren't wobbling, they're in serious strife - and they need to get it right quickly

If ever there was a season to help those lagging behind understand what a mcg tenant/locked in gf means. Hopefully there’s other options to 11 in a row at optus.

Six talking points from AFL Round 7

No mention of injuries when all the jetty fans and journos thought they were a chance during week. Collingwood and Geelong are good football teams affected by injuries. Freo have a long way to go.

Fans of vic teams just need to think of all the benefits their sides will be getting from being in hubs for the rest of the season 😂

AFL announces ten-week Queensland hub

Unique alright. It’s unfortunate about the weather and time slot, might have sold out with tickets being so cheap. Will be there with bells and my swan d’s jumper on.

It’s not the coach turning it off, it’s the players mentally.

AFL Power Rankings 2020: Round 6

Its a great discussion to have Brendon.
I just think people are ignoring that keeping a team to a low score takes organization and skill.
Also, people wanting more rule changes to revive an older version of the game is almost comical. 1stly rule changes have rarely worked as intended and 2ndly the defensive side of the game has clearly evolved – why is that a bad thing we want to get rid of?
While we are at it tho, my radical theory to increase scoring is just enforce current rules like holding the man, chopping the arms and late contact to protect the forwards (players that are trying to do the scoring) better.
I’m all good (can enjoy watching more than just goals being kicked) but which curling league do you suggest for those who can’t?

Shocking freo managed to win with fyfe playing.

A few might be better suited following something with no defensive ellement and gauranteed scoring every couple minutes… golf, ten pin bowling etc.

Six talking points from AFL Round 6

Because unlike freo, they’re rarely losing.

An MCG grand final probably can't happen - but where else works?

Not even sure how I ended up on a Rugby thread but this was the most moving peice I’ve read on the roar, a very sad but beautifully put story. Sorry for yours losses (and by the sounds of it many others). All the best Joe

Six talking points from AFL Round 5

Exactly WASShed . 5 goals down in a gf 1st qtr kinda easy. No bag for Jack that day, just a game changing 3rd qtr.

Six talking points from AFL Round 5

Missed a classic. End to end stuff that everyone has been calling for.

Eagles can win a few in a row now. Don’t play a team that will finish above 12th till at least rd 8.

Six talking points from AFL Round 5

He didnt but I dont think chucka is too far off. It’s not a coincidence everyone’s talking about umpiring and rules changes rather than hawks getting smashed in the last qtr.

Lessons learned from Round 4

Keep him i reckon. Not sure on his role, a deeper version of Shep? Agree he is ready for something bigger. Has been one of the few bright spots this season. Simmo will sort us out.

Six talking points from AFL Round 4

What about all the notes on Simpkin’s new-found consistency?

Six talking points from AFL Round 4

Well c’mon. Who would you drop this week? We could do with a few more spurred on vs tigers. Good one about the Derby 😂 The last time Freo won a derby… Obama was president, only 3 star wars had been made and iphones hadn’t been invented.

Six talking points from AFL Round 4

I would like to see us try to flick it around at stoppages a bit more until someone can clear it under less pressure or break through and run it. Instead of the default rushed kick to a contest, especially when the opp team is blocking the corridor and so ready for the kick down the line like port were. More like Collingwood does, then when they do use their half forwards it gives them a better chance.
Eagles midfield is a strength but we aren’t using/relying on them any more than guys that are still developing or out of form.

Six talking points from AFL Round 4

Might be on to something with being worked out. From what i saw the port game was an improvement on the gc and lions. Winning more clearances but they weren’t effective and it would usually come straight back. Also not clinical inside 50 or getting crumbs often enough (miss Willie 😢 ).
Only watched the first qtr closely, something changed for bit after half time?

Six talking points from AFL Round 4

Howe going down is more akin to losing Rance AND Grimes. Treloar should mean their defense doesn’t need to be as good as it has been. So still the team to beat.
