My pick would have been Joseph and Brown. They have achieved amazing success with less resources than the other contenders. They are both ex All Blacks and fully understand the AB history, tradition and culture. Joseph is tough ,straight talking a had plenty of Mongrel as a player. Something the AB pack lacks big time. He is the right coach to develop a tough, physical and dominant forward pack over the next WC cycle. Tony Brown was a brave, skillful and creative 1/5. He has proven to be a far superior attack coach and under his tutelage the Japanese level of skill and attacking prowess has become second to none. Under Brown the AB backs will become even better. He certainly knows how to run a backline . Something Mounga and Barret have yet to convince me that they can do . Especially when under pressure. They both went missing in the semi against a far superior England… So Foster has got the gig. Maybe he will show us that he can do the job ??? It’s made me a lot more interested in the AB’s than I have been for years. Historically the AB’s become a lot better after a painful defeat like the RWC semi against Eng. Time for Foster to facilitate a massive rejuvenation and clean out the atrophy that developed after to many years of success that masked a slow decline in forward play and onfield game management .

Did the All Blacks pick the right successor to Hansen?
