Morning Lads, it’s Friday, we have elimination finals this weekend and there’s going to be some mighty fine football if you ask me. The creme on the cake is that on NBN (Win/9) News last night they said an announcement about the Jets new owners will be made within days. Come on the lads!!!!
Ok, so here’s how I want it to play out. Victory knock over City, simply because a strong Victory is a stronger A-League. Don’t tell Mrs FIL that, she’s a City supporter and loves Macca. Seriously, I think Victory will be too strong. Bulls will knock over the Smurfs. Bulls have everything to play for, they haven’t been this deep before, and their young talent will outlast the retirement home that is Smurf FC. Struth, Bulls proved a better team with 9 men!!! Next week the two winners play Coasties and Nix. Coasties lose, Nix win. Everyone rejoices that Coasties are gone. Nix play whoever knocks over Coasties, and Nix take the title. That sets the 24-25 season up to be a cracker because the new boys on the block, Auckland will want to knock over the Dunny Seat custodians. And that wont happen easily because the short angry man Corica is coaching them. Big mistake. Have a great weekend lads and support Australian football

FA introduces key VAR change for A-Leagues finals
Victory are the biggest club in the league. They’ll get a new sponsor and move on. Meanwhile, my Jets………..

now that would be gold Texi, problem is the optics suggest our refs struggle with more than one syllable.

Good article Stu, and timely. For something that is supposed to make the game better, it really does leave the game open to degradation. Firstly, if you have cerebrally challenged referees like ours, who are unable to take black and white policy in the form of the rules of football, and apply them in a real word manner contextual to the game, and to the situation, the decision making is horrendous, and the Macarthur v Sydney game was the perfect illustration. Secondly, and most importantly, it does not take a rocket scientist to work out the risk to genuine uncorrupted football is considerable. I know I have raised this before but the question marks raised around VAR and its validity was the Newcastle Grand Final. How convenient that the team that would bring the league the most financial reward, scored the winning goal from an offside position and oops, sorry the VAR had crashed. System error!!! Sorry about that lads. Second’s still pretty good. This change for the finals is just like everything else associated with VAR, resting on a knife edge. It could either bring integrity and transparency to the game, or it could be just one massive imbuggerance. Either way, we will see evolution and VAR might stay, it might go, just look at the evolution of everyone’s Holy Grail, EPL, sixteen clubs want a salary cap.

Ibusuki is highly under appreciated in my opinion. The guy’s a worker a goal scorer and a damned good role model for the kids. A great representative for the league too

If the Mariners have an ounce of integrity, they should be packing Torres bag for him and putting him on the first flight to Bogota. Bugger off and dont come !!back

Absolutely nailed it. Dud signings both Gomes and Lolley

Lolley is overpaid and has underperformed for a player of his calibre for my liking

We just need the Reds to get up on Wednesday night. Good call on Wanderers

That’s the first time I have backed Sydney. Well done Sydney lasses.

How bloody good is our league Stu!! And the crowds are coming back. Let’s see Newy and Canberra get there, just to send a message in our 20th season next year that football’s not going anywhere it’s only getting bigger. It’ll give the Horse Guy (NRL) and Eddie (AFL) the genuine irrits. Ahahahaha

Come on Canberra there’s a football community to rival any city down there. And at this time of year Canberra’s extra player will be the bloody cold nights. They’re our Capital city why the heck are they not in our league. The big question is will their active supporters be called the Capital Punishment

What about Survivor, Ben Homer was unofficially reporting that my Jets completed the new ownership process yesterday morning with an announcement to be made this week. The Almighty has heard us hopefully.

Nick those young Wanderers lads delivered last night and my Jets lads didn’t make life easier for the Coasties. There’s a lot to be positive about.

You have to admit that was an indictment on Australian refereeing
The Roar's A-League Men tips and predictions: Round 26 - the jostle for finals positions is on in earnest
You know what, the way the Reds gave the roar a hard time, and with nothing riding on it for Adelaide. Nothing is certain. My Jets showed in the first half Coasties ate not invincible. And then there’s Wellington. Victory, Sydney, City and maybe even Wanderers that they have to defeat to take the Toilet seat. Wanderers proved last night nothing is certain. That’s the beauty of this league

i am not saying they are to engage in anything vaguely related to business management mate, that would be nuts unless their Kaz Patafta, I just think that if we are trying to build football culture, would it not be a pertinent knowledge gathering step to talk to former players about their experiences overseas, the club cultures they encountered, what the matchday experience was like etc?

in my opinion, there might have been some rather large pay packets, but hey I am scarred by the NSL, I am probably completely wrong
APL's spin doctoring insults Australian football fans' intelligence - and might well be the last straw
Gee Ch 7 had nothing to do with the collapse of the NSL, with a refusal to air games, which meant no sponsorship and advertising and weren’t there a few blokes driving around in Jags and with big homes who’d siphoned off money from the league for their own personal gain. I might be wrong though

mate you just nailed. Kudos

yeah, but A-League players are not cool, and have no association with network investment. Cross-Country Volleyball and the World’s Highest Paying Probation Scheme, it’s their players that make good television because there’s guaranteed controversy. How pathetic is this world becoming!!!

Waz, mate you’ve shown no respect for yourself
