Its done on a rotation basis and it was Australia’s turn. That’s one thing we can’t blame the Hamster for.

However its ironic that the person who has tried the most to sabotage SANZAAR is now its chairman.

'Evolution for the game': McLennan hails Nations Cup, World Cup expansion as 'massive win' for Australia

Beaumont has said he will step down when his term is up next year. And I agree Africa will be very happy to see him go.

But there is no way that anyone has the slightest interest in seeing the Hamster replace him despite our Hamish’s grandiose ideas.

'Evolution for the game': McLennan hails Nations Cup, World Cup expansion as 'massive win' for Australia

From my contacts overseas it would seem that the rest of World Rugby view our chairman as a total joke.

But now he’s claiming credit for this new international calendar. Also he is still lobbying to replace Bill Beaumont as chair of World Rugby next year.

He has less than a snowballs chance in hell of achieving that and his credibility in the negotiations over the new international calendar is zero.

An excellent article and as another neutral I whole heartedly agree with. Saffas will say it is directed at them but that is not the case. It is directed at the rules which SA take maximum advantage of.
3 HIAs in the French game none of which had the slightest justification apart from spelling 3 players.
I could go on at length.

Rugby’s descent into cynical play: Why neutral fans should back the All Blacks for the good of the game

'Didn't want to leave': The Aussie-raised star in World Cup final - and the 'vision' that led him to the All Blacks

Because before Schmidt and Ryan came on board the ABs were terrible.

And there was only one person responsible for selecting Plumtree and Moar as assistant coaches and that was Foster.

And try to remember Jacko [and I know your memory is very selective ] how Foster for 12 months resisted replacing them.

Nuff said.

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

That is very interesting Miz. I did not see that but why am I not surprised.

I thought I was the only one who picked it up RT.

Very subtle.

If we play him in 2027 I hope he plays as badly as Sexton did this year. There is a real lesson there. Don’t select a player for sentimental reasons !!!!

Another key moment mistake which I believe contributed to England’s defeat was Farrell back chatting the referee after a penalty was awarded. O’Keefe moved the penalty 10 metres up field as a consequence enabling it to be in range for the South African goal kicker. Without Farrell’s back chat it is unlikely that a goal kick would have been successful.

I’m not surprised the English media have failed to highlight this. In England Farrell is regarded as a God who can do no wrong. I’m delighted that in 2027 he will be 36 and probably to old to be selected and therefore will probably never win a RWC Winner’s Medal.

It would be nice if he started to. I note in the game on Saturday one pundit gave him a 6 and another a 5 in the players ratings. And I find it hard to remember anything he did apart from taking a high ball exceptionally well and then putting it straight into touch on the full.
The next high ball he knocked on.
Not great auspices for next Saturday with all the high balls the Bokke will be kicking down to him.

'Concede points there, they're done': Moment England missed to bury Springboks as ghosts of 2019 return

The latest rugby joke courtesy of Spiro Zavos :

Rugby is a simple game. Thirty men chase a ball for 80 minutes, and at the end, a Southern Hemisphere team wins the World Cup.

Forget Eddie's Coogee circus, the biggest questions Australian rugby must answer were revealed in Paris

The last coach to try that was that super failure John Kirwan when he [at a huge cost to the Blues] bought Benji Marshal to play number 10 for the Blues.

Didn’t even last half a season. It was embarrassing to watch.

Eddie Jones says he needs to 'give myself an uppercut' but '100 percent' committed to coaching Wallabies

The inmates are running the asylum or hadn’t you noticed.

They are still in France. And Hamish is still lobbying World Rugby board members to vote for him as chairman when Bill Beaumont retires next year.

As Pinetree said someone had to look after the farm.

The Wrap: Why that was the All Blacks' greatest ever RWC win - but the road to fourth title is still a rough one

They may be available but are they willing to coach the Wallabies.

I very much doubt it.

Many of the posters on here think it is a desirable position.

I tend to think none of those named would agree.

The three contenders to take over the Wallabies if Eddie Jones walks

Like Deans, Rennie and McKenzie were white anted. As I have said frequently the curse of Australian rugby is its parochialism and you can add to that our envy and bias against New Zealanders.

And that worked well didn’t it !!!!!!!!!!!

What fails me is your comment about giving him a fair go this time.

How did he not get a fair go last time.

How was Cheika not given a fair go last time.

5 years in the job plus being sole selector.

Words fail me.

Do you think he would want to come here and submit to the whims of RA plus all the anti kiwi comments.

I am sure that if he wanted another stint as a head coach there are places and teams he would rather be with.

When you are as accomplished as he is why pick up a poisoned chalice.

The three contenders to take over the Wallabies if Eddie Jones walks

I think you can forget Schmidt. Even if he would take on another head coaching position there are many more attractive options than coaching in this country.

REPORT: Eddie Jones to quit Wallabies and join Japan as head coach

Christy should follow suit. As his chief enabler he has lost all credibility.

Perhaps he could get a job reporting in Japan or as Eddie’s comms man.

He’s got too many brains to think of coming here !!!
