I just cringe at all pre-game Wallaby mouthing-off by players, coaches and footie journos.
Let the scoreboard do the talking, not state all the bravado we’re gunna do.
..and I also cringe at the post-game Wallaby captains lolly-water excuses after a defeat.

'Kiwis think they're better than us': Eddie turns up heat on Bledisloe rivals saying 'country sinks' when ABs lose

Tim, I’ll never look at a football the same again; I’ll never kick it or pass it to anyone; ever. I’ll take it to bed and ….. errr hang on a minute….

'Never coached rugby union': Fisher questions Wallabies' tactical 'clarity', reveals a 'for goodness sakes' moment

Stewart might be a smokey, as defence wins Test matches and none more so than in the RWC games. There aren’t many options. Stewart is not a highlights reel player, but has a good rugby brain, especially with defence. If some player trials are still in vogue with Eddie this RC, it might belatedly be time to give him a crack at it with Ikitau’s injury.

Wallabies defeat wasn’t about winning or losing. It was about discovery

You could actually get the Datsun 1200 to go and handle pretty good, BUT you had to drop a shyte-load of after-market parts into them, and an even bigger shyte-load of cash.

You ended up with a car that you could have, and should have bought new, but with a different badge on it.

Dump the Giteau Law.

'Look out': Eddie puts All Blacks on notice despite 'broken car' Wallabies' loss to Argentina

Get rid of the Datsun 1200 really means get rid of the Giteau law (ie buy a new car) or bring home our best offshore players, just like the Boks.

The upcoming Bledisloe will be nothing more than an extended RWC training run for the AB’s

'Look out': Eddie puts All Blacks on notice despite 'broken car' Wallabies' loss to Argentina

It certainly appears that way for at least the last 5 years under different coaches.

Cheika had the team playing musical chairs as well as rugby, Rennie brought additional smarts to a rumble, and Eddie brings cunning psychology to a duel.

I think we just need to get the players to go out there and play instinctive rugby.

Maxwell Smart’s ‘cone of silence’ for the matchday 23 might be a good start.

Yes, he was diabolical. It’s very difficult to win games when you’re giving quality opposition so much help to beat you.

'Gutted': Five-minute horror period ends Brumbies' Super Rugby hopes as Chiefs set up final with Crusaders

Agree JD. As the losing side, the Brumbies did quite well. A few self-inflicted wounds brought them undone. They would have been worthy finalists if they prevailed.

Yeh, fair point Mirt. Tonight’s was a real arm wrestle. Lots of Test quality about it and highly competitive from both sides. Neither gave an inch and all territory was hard earned. Small margins dictated the result. I guess my bias (above) comes through with the more open type of running game the Saders delivered, but I also concede tonight’s game was every bit as good, albeit a very different type of quality game that wasn’t decided until the 78th minute.

'Gutted': Five-minute horror period ends Brumbies' Super Rugby hopes as Chiefs set up final with Crusaders

Agree Hika, that was exceptional form they showed against the Blues. In the final, I think they will hold the Chiefs in a tight first 40, then open them up in the last 30. They were Test quality yesterday, more than the Chiefs tonight.

I hope so

Agree, and I’m not intending to be too harsh either, but geez…..

The Wrap: Is 'enigma' fullback the Wright move for Wallabies, SR not burning but smouldering

Geoff, you rightly observed Test standard of play in Super Rugby from Jacobsen, Cane etc and then rightly put the focus on Wright’s game. Honestly, he wasn’t a pass mark on the weekend. He’s so often a liability. His rugby brain risk/reward calculations are generally poor and costly. You don’t need to beat the opposition when you can blow up your own team with hair-brained options or blatant skill deficiencies. Imo, he needs the ‘Eddie fireside chat’ to go and fix up his game before he is to be considered for further Test duties. It reminds me of Folau at 15. The highlights reel can be spectacular, but the general deficiencies were never addressed, and other teams increasingly exploited their weaknesses to great effect. Test matches are easily lost on this.

Rebels far too good across the park for the Force with a weakened engine room.

The Force were clunky with persistent misunderstandings with their plays etc; if it could go wrong it did. At 10, Burey needs a lot more attacking flair, as do the Force backs in general. All up, the Force got touched-up tonight.

Bf, Brumbies looked off/rusty after their bye. Not an excuse, just an observation that they were a long way off their best, and their game-plan was wrong. I think any of the top 6 can beat each other. The Chiefs have to hold their form and not have a dip at the business end of the season.

Can the Chiefs purple patch of form get them through to the title or will other finalists peak at the right time and snatch it out of their hands, prior to or in the last game?

The Wrap: Scary Chiefs make it a neat nine, Brumbies miscalculate, breakthrough moment for Rebels

Until Pasitoa gets back, I’d prefer Stewart at 10 and Kuenzle outside him. Hegarty on the bench to guide them home.

Pick me Eddie: McReight stakes Wallabies claim to lead Reds to crucial win over Force

Agree TJ, there was no backline spark at all. The Force seem to want a biege stable pair of hands with a decent boot at 10, The backline looks completely stifled and bereft of basic variations in play. They posed no threat v Reds. Doubt they will win many games being so lame.

Pick me Eddie: McReight stakes Wallabies claim to lead Reds to crucial win over Force

Agree Peter, Wrights all-round game was very impressive. He clearly stood out as my MoM. He should be in the mix for the Wallabies matchday 23.
