I agree about the conditions supporting anti-football. I also think the recent loses for Port come down to needing to adapt to the wet conditions better rather than anything else. We will definitely see come Sunday afternoon at Etihad when they play the Tigers if it’s the case!

You have a good article (this comes from from a footy fan). I have never seen an NBL game and I can’t believe that the photo of the packed stadium didn’t make a ripple at all, that looked amazing! There is a sweet irony now in your article as you have made a ripple onto myself and I’m sure many other non-NBL readers too. After reading your article I do think that the NBL should go for a name change as it introduces those 5 new teams. Just like VFL went to AFL. My only concern is as the VFL went to AFL, a few clubs were established and a few clubs were promoted to the AFL which had followers already. I don’t know if those teams you mentioned to be introduced are brand new clubs or if they already exist, but if the not the latter then I have some concerns about potential attendance numbers for the respective clubs. Anyways, keep up the good work, I enjoyed reading your article and I genuinely look forward to seeing what might become of the NBL now.

Great article mate. I was there at the 2007 preliminary final against the Kangas and I remember all the nerves I had in the lead up as we faced our bogey team. Interesting to hear your experience over the years as a Port supporter. The future certainly looks bright indeed!
