Haha Christy, Hamish’s so-called “broadcast expertise” created a rugby-free zone in pubs after the first year it was signed.

Fancy going to a pub on a Friday / Saturday evening and being told that all you could watch was NRL and AFL.

Leaked document says RA out to 'destroy Super Rugby' and 'turn members against each other' as Rebels' pain comes to light

Hard to disagree in 2023

RA to begin hunt for Wallabies coach imminently after securing key man, Schmidt keen as Nucifora talks continue

— How many kiwi coaches do we need to treat like dirt?

— Get Leicester to release McKellar at the end of the Premiership Rugby comp. He already has skin in the game.

— He’ll land back here in July. Knows the players. They know his style. His ‘22 season against kiwi teams (benchmark) in the SR was promising.

RA to begin hunt for Wallabies coach imminently after securing key man, Schmidt keen as Nucifora talks continue

Kings did. GPS schools are infamous for buying their top athletes, like some of their First XV, through sports scholarships.

'You can't sell a secret': Biggest issues facing Australian rugby - and why it's in better shape than meets the eye

Several moments of flawless cricket determined the outcome. Head was key in 2 of them. That catch not made, Dravid may never have needed to defend Sharma’s captaincy. One for the ages.

'Exceptional leader': Dravid defends Sharma despite skipper's moment of madness triggering World Cup final failure

Thank you, Geoff. For this piece and all of your other recent contributions around the debacle which has been RA over the past 12 months.
— Dan’s slipped past the defence, going take it up the field and flick it for a try assist. Not assume that he’s the only man who can score. Can’t wait! Great day to be an Australian sports fan.

ANALYSIS: McLennan's fatal blind spot, and why his exit leaves Australian rugby in a better place and a worse one

Haha this is gold, Harry!

'What a shame': McLennan GONE as Rugby Australia name World Cup-winner chairman to bookend wild year

Logic prevails!

'What a shame': McLennan GONE as Rugby Australia name World Cup-winner chairman to bookend wild year

Don’t worry all. Just another journo piece on one of Hamish’s “Yes” men. Can we please get an opinion from someone who Hamish hasn’t appointed to a cushy role?

States not RA the issue Australian rugby is facing as Wallabies great calls on reform measures to be backed

If only the Panthers had a Politis-style arrangement, Luai and Crichton would hardly be tempted to leave 😛. Such a shame. Always a pleasure to watch the core Panthers boys play for each other.

Smart Signings: Why the Tigers need to throw the keys to the team - and the cheque book - at Jarome Luai

Good piece.

However, I’ll still continue to support my local Super team and buy their membership and merch annually. They’re visibly working hard and trying to pull things together for their fans. If the game drags on, I just pop in my headphones and switch Kayo on my phone and watch some NRL.

Rugby Australia needs to target the NRL and AFL's best talent - but not on the field

Full credit to the ARL. Hamish McLennan fanned the flames with his grandstanding media puffery after securing Suallii (who, we’ve been assured by Politis, will be returning to the Roosters after the next RWC). EJ also went public about tapping into the NRL.

School boy RA board being buried by professionals. Notch this up as another victory for the only man who can save Australian Rugby. This is getting old.

Don't mention the war chest: NRL gearing up for rugby raid makes strategic sense but won’t change much

“Iceberg, right ahead”
—— Nawaqanitawase: “I have a child!”
—— Can’t blame the guy… can we? —- Hamish is hitting every iceberg there is to hit and still refuses to vacate the bridge.

NRL powerhouse target Wallabies young gun as replacement for Suaalii

“When the team was named and I looked at the squad, it was a lot different to Dave [Rennie’s squad]. We knew how to play with each other.”

Enough said. No need to twist his words.
Hamish & RA have created this toxic mess.

The RWC wound is still fresh and pussy while Hamish McLennan is still there. Clean him out.

'An experienced 10 would have helped': Wallabies open up on on failed World Cup they'll have to 'live with'

Just buying McLennan time. What a load of rubbish.

Ex-Wallabies and high-performance expert named to review World Cup shocker

“ Rugby Australia has an enfant terrible, a big baby with money, in the board chair, every utterance dripping with melodrama; but no coach, no assistants, no true CEO, no funding, and no quarterfinal.”

Perfectly stated! Start with the chairman and the CEO, then we can focus on the other items.

Eight crucial lessons Wallabies must learn from the RWC quarter-finalists

How can a an elite-level coach, McKellar (and Bernie) included, consider breaking contract to join RA and lead the Wallabies while Hamish McLennan is still there?

'Completely unfair': Eddie sledge that angered Waugh, new coaching contenders emerge to rebuild Wallabies

Hamish McLennan being dumped from RA is the apology Rennie and Australian Rugby fans deserve.

CONFIRMED: Eddie blames RA for early exit as Woodward calls for Rennie apology, ex-ABs coach linked to role

Why does Phil Waugh appear to be the u9s ball boy watching on while Hamish is out on the field, fumbling the ball and mistiming his jumps every home lineout?

We’re at rock-bottom because of Hamish, not because of Eddie. The appointment and rhetoric of the Jones dynasty part 2 should have at the very least waited post RWC 2023.

Clean house. Hamish out by January. Let the elite-coaching talent pool buy in to the reset.

'I'm not a quitter': Under-siege RA chair won't follow Jones, blames 'broken system' for chaos

Christy… nah bro. Apples and Oranges.
The ABs should have won the 2007 RWC. Maybe the wrapping up of their key players in cotton wool during the super rugby season was a misstep and was a key thing they adjusted in the following 2011+ RWCs.
Henry and Co (incl. Hansen) had all the ducks lined up starting post 03 RWC. The grassroots, the nurseries all but humming along. The prep and infrastructure leading up to 2007 and the building of that was setting the ABs up for 2011+ RWC domination.
We are not where the ABs were in 2007. Far, far from it. Guess what, they stuck by Henry. They got together and did their due diligence. They did this with the initial hiring of Henry. No bs captain’s pick from a Boof head who doesn’t understand the game nor the numbers.
Guess what, Henry also lauded Rennie’s ability as an elite level coach.
Clean out RA. Let Eddie go. Time for a reset. Drink the milk, Hamish. It’s Australian Rugby’s only chance.
The public have had enough and deserve better.

Wallabies are where the All Blacks were in 2007 - it's time to look in the mirror or risk more embarrassment

Expecting Hamish McLennan to come out with another fluff statement to add to the list:

“It is a major coup for Australian Rugby to have the best coach in the world return home to coach the iconic Wallabies and to oversee the Wallaroos program”

“We signed a five-year deal with him and if he wants to leave early that’s up to him, but we’re really happy with what he’s doing. He’s brilliant.”

“He’s an excellent coach, he’s one of the world’s best coaches. He’s got three teams into the final of the World Cup, a 73%-win rate with England, anyone who goes against Eddie is foolish.”

There’s so many more but I have so little time.

Hamish McLennan, you friendly-fired a torpedo on an already sinking RA ship. You don’t have the right to go down with it. Get off and drink the milk.

Eddie's Wallabies future on tenterhooks amid coaching changes, key ally departs as Waugh returns home

Thanks for the post. It does appear that Jones has lightened up and and is answering questions about the future of Australian Rugby in an informed manner that is expected from someone with his elite level of experience.

However, let’s be clear here. There is very little evidence that a lot of thought or round table discussions occurred prior to parachuting him into the role at DR’s and the Wallabies’ RWC 2023 expense.

Even he’s publicly stated that he’s just a coach. He’s not going to save Australian rugby.

Hamish can pay whatever he wants to posters on The Roar who attempt to release him from the liability of his grandiose and unchecked brain farts.

So, no, Eddie might not be able to save the Wallabies. All that was in Hamish’s head and he wanted and still wants the public to eat it up.

Not buying it

Eddie Jones joked about signing Nathan Cleary - but he might be the only man who can save the Wallabies

Great article. As much as the NZ media was jumping on Foz and several pundits calling for Razor to jump in, they still had the foresight and at least some sense of decency to allow Foz to go to the RWC 2023. These ARE rugby people in charge.

Hamish McLennan is NOT a rugby person. Floating the Jones name with DR late last year. Could DR and Jones team up for RWC 2023? What a joke! Hamish failed to understand the game and elite-level coaches and an elite-level team mindset. DR was building momentum towards 2023. Blooding players and combinations. Evidence of increased resilience shown by the boys.

Jones was Hamish’s decision. The RA data team likely didn’t get a chance to push their case. It was always going to end badly. Jones has his 5 yr contract (dumb RA-Hamish move), now he’s a pariah who wants to be fired to cash in and for that he’s playing cat & mouse with RA (and trying to get the media to play along).

We can’t focus on Eddie. Hamish needs to go, and a new Chairman can reset and let Eddie go with some level of face intact.

COMMENT: RA wanted a Pitbull to bring back some snarl to the Wallabies - Eddie rolled over for a tummy tickle

Drink the milk, Hamish.

Fire him and pay him out of your own wallet. That’s what he wants. He’s not going to walk without the $$$

Eddie Jones says he needs to 'give myself an uppercut' but '100 percent' committed to coaching Wallabies

Agree with Grassroots investment. That’s what Dingo Deans and Rennie were pushing for and they were coaches.

However, this doesn’t excuse the embarrassment Rugby Australia has been in the past 11 months when it comes to RWC decisions. Now they’ve got a loan, so glad I sold MFG when Hamish piped up about needing more directors fees.

Passing on the rugby bug: A real fanbase grows through grassroots investment, not a TV screen
