Vunivalu cost the Reds by coming in from his wing and leaving space. Overrated. Also, if Carter improves kicking he is our number 10. His defence is so much better.

Five things: Aussie sides finally discover what it takes to compete against Kiwis, rookie outshines World Cup Wallaby

The Rebs now know how to beat the Tah. They will win going away. Watch for an up tempo game. If they get the pace in the game they should win well. Similar to their Brumbies performance. The week off has worked a treat as they looked shot in their last performance. Rebs to win. Centre choices will be watched carefully.

Waratahs ready for Super abrasive Rebels

Rebs will not get Gardiner again this week-so Berry will get game. Look for a few surprises from the Rebs. It is the match of the round and while Rebs had a quiet game vs Force they may surprise tonight. Hope it’s not a scrum/lineout fest. as Brumbies want.

Super Rugby AU Round 6 teams: To'omua shifted to inside centre, Petaia returns to starting line-up

I am still unconvinced by the Brumbies performance overall. That is the second game in 3 weeks where they were not the better team on the night but came away with the points. The Reds, when they really put the peddle down were too good for the Canberrans. Problem, Reds immaturity, some silly errors cost them. But when they came back at the Brumbs they look far the better side.

The Wrap: Super Rugby AU comes of age in Canberra thriller

Brett, I was surprised to see your comment that the Waratahs will be good in a couple of years. From what I saw on the stats sheet against the Rebs, they were totally dominated in every stat. and the score could have blown away another 20 points. Unlike the Rebels, the Tahs spirit is nowhere to be seen. Even their ex Captain is losing patience and he may go the way of his present Cap. when his contract is up.

Super Rugby Week 8: Lessons learned. Or learnings gained.

Well, there will be little conjecture now regarding the Melbourne Rebels form and the value of having this unit in a 2021+ Super Rugby system. Stats do not lie. Well done, Rebs!

Short season means the stakes are already high for the Rebels

Great work. I like your Ben Skeen reference. I thought I was the only one distracted by his persistant needless interventions. Let them play. Remember, he is a vice principal! You watch, he will do the final if the AB’s are not in it. Rest not great for England. They need some tough matches. Eddie would never admit it. Advantage Aussie. They will be ready and still have a 6 day break. Go japan!

Typhoon Hagibis has everyone stirred up at the RWC

A good summary Spiros after your Cheika ‘spray’. I thought Cheika was muted in his response when there were at least 5 key moments where the officiating came up short or just got lost. The main issue was Foley which proved decisive. The team were peerless in the second half. Ben O’Keefe as ref and george as TMO would have seen quite a different result. Skeen said “Check, check” and that changed the direction of the game.

Wallabies down but not out after Wales loss

Great expose. Well done. Greg. Melbourne
