Born and lived most of my life in Geelong. So lucky to have watched many, many games by PollyFarmer and Ablett Snr. easily the most awe-inspiring and sensationally brilliant footballers to watch in my lifetime.

From the sublime (Dennis C) to the ridiculous.
BT worst caller around by far – most of the time he is not calling who or what is happening, instead he’s gabbling on about something other than what is actually happening on the ground at that moment.
Very disappointing news.

Guess who's coming to Friday night footy?

“So this shows that the pre-finals bye round makes the finals more even and less predictable.”

So there is not much reward for finishing the season on top of the ladder, or second? Certainly takes away most of the incentive to finish first or second, and to be the best team or the second best team for the home-and-away season.

The pre-finals bye is a good thing

I totally agree with you, mcmanpp, and each of your 5 points, especially no. 3.
So often wlile I am concentrating on the game he is not actually calling the play or players (his main job) but rambling on, usually about something totally irrelevant.
Worst TV commentator by far, and I hate it when he commentates, especially for Geelong matches (go Cats).

Go home BT, and take the boys club language with you

Thank god someone is saying the obvious.
SHOW US THE B….. GOALS AND BEHINDS.
As Strummer says they do mean something, especially to the genuine lover of the game itself. For instance they help us to understand something about how the game is progressing. After all it’s not basketball, it’s Aussie Rules !!!
The main thing with the commentators is that they name the player with the ball or making the play and give commentary on what is happening right then and there on the ground.

Who deserves to broadcast the AFL?

Probably Snr played his most sensational football in his first few years when he played half-forward flank and wing. 14 goals off the wing in a game against Richmond one day. That’s right – 14 goals off the wing. Absolutely incredible.

Who would you prefer in your team: Ablett Senior or Junior?
