Very simple to answer. Unless they won it as many times as Melbourne straight away, it would fail. It’s an AFL state and always will be. Just look at Melbourne. The most successful team in the last twenty or more years and Leichardt vs Petersham soccer games get more people there to watch it.

I agree with Brett 100%. Going to the footy these days, is a bit like watching psychology lessons at university or parenting seminars. These guys are the toughest of the tough. If you want to play soccer or basketball, then go play it. Don’t ruin a sport that was made for the toughest.

The media have been steered away from the truth scent. What club does Latrell and his family follow? Was he looking for an easy way out the Roosters to join them? Did he knock back $800K to stay at the Roosters? Yes sure, Tigers, Cowboys, Bulldogs all came dancing around with bags of money. But did he sign or even speak to them? Somewhere in there we have the truth still, because that is one thing that can’t be changed.

If the NRL follow this lead I think SHOULDER GATE will go on for a very long time. I can’t see how Souths losing $3,000,000 isn’t punishment enough. Why make them pay for team performance as well? If Souths can’t get that money taken off their cap, Souths fans will suffer and Mark my words, so too will the NRL. If Souths aren’t winning, forget about big crowds at Souths games and semi finals. I’d think this out properly if I was the NRL.
If Sam Burgess retires, South Sydney must pay the price
Regardless of your own thoughts or agenda, luckily you don’t have a say. If he retires medically and Souths pay him, that’s money they lose. Whether it comes off the cap is irrelevant. Souths lose over $3,000,000. But I think you would like to see Souths lose it there and in other places. Isn’t that a bit much?
