Lloyd was , when he felt like it, a clean player.
And he kicked a lot of goals.
I wouldn’t be taking his advice about dealing with opposition players.

You would probably appreciate that at Sevenoaks School, where Chris Tavare was educated and where he taught and where the fees are an eye-watering 42000 pounds/yr, the cricket ground has a vantage point where you can watch grass grow.

I can just see you with your short back and sides and short sleeved polyester shirt with khaki shorts, long socks and sandals queuing up outside the paymaster’s office and being given the buff envelope with your pay in pounds ,shillings and pence inside.

Earnt every penny too.

You might find that pay is organized somewhat differently this century.

I think that Peter, Yattuzi and me would be the longest-serving single person avatars around the AFL thread, and Don Freo of course, but he comments enough for three. As does Macca.

Victorian media like to think that disloyalty is the base currency of teams and players.

Botanically speaking a sport is a mutation from an original plant.
I guess all sports therefore are mutations of some ball or skull-carrying or throwing game of antiquity.

Zerohanger and Footyology both give Cripps credit for a good game as well. Brayshaw is still on par.

Apart from her relentless cheerleading for Brisbane you mean? Who played very well and thoroughly deserved their win.
She didn’t mention once the very poor umpiring that led to at least three Lions’ goals and saved their blushes at the other end.
For example, Liam Ryan was held by the arm in the forward 50 when he didn’t have the ball.
Rich, on the other hand, had the ball, had too long to unsuccessfully try to break two tackles, therefore he illegally got the ball to foot, Rayner marked and goaled.
Andrews held Kennedy illegally off the ball twice in the first quarter alone.
