Brilliant article…..

Network Ten/Paramount+ had better get this right as football in Australia depends on it

Make the hub in WA at least it has the best chance of a full season.
If there’s no ALeague hopefully they have an extended/night series WA NPL (and promote it and pay the players) as it’s been a good season here in WA for NPL football.

A-League hub may be necessary: Corica

Another easy group for PSG and Man City to get out of…….that oil money seems to buy a lot of favours

'I laughed': Reds cop crazy Group of Death while it's Messi v Pep in Champions League draw

Maybe look at your state government for over officious behaviour at the grounds.

Red and black still the most loyal fans

At least RnB turn up in bad weather unlike some other teams supporters.

Red and black still the most loyal fans

That’s a bargain compared to Olympic sports such as diving and ice skating!

Wow a great way of looking at the new deal, great to have some clear thinking and most of all it’s positive. I am looking forward to 2021/22 season already.

Will Ten and Paramount change football’s media coverage?

How did Popovic get in the u23’s obviously the person picking the team has never watched him play. Seems you don’t get in the team on merit, you just have to be in a squad for a European team.
PG have plenty of better players playing regularly in the A league, but again I don’t think even the Socceroos selectors watch the A League!

The A-League must end its obsession with bad ideas

Dunga i think it was, Brazil captn, was a rich kid. It doesn’t matter your background, anyone can play football.

What should we do with private school football?

A great player for Liverpool. Some Liverpool fans didn’t take to him because he was from Cheshire and they were spoilt with Fowler being from Toxteth. By denying Owen, Liverpool fans are forgetting their history just like the Super League denies the club’s history.

Which players have played for both Liverpool FC and Manchester United in the English Premier League?

VAR is inconsistent at best!! Fans and pundits no longer understand the handball rule. 4 mins for an offside decision that the linesman got right in a millisecond.
Who actually runs VAR?
How much of fans money being on it, rather than being directed back into grassroots?
Who owns VAR, mates of FIFA/UEFA perhaps?
Who is checking the clear and obvious VAR mistakes? 2 this season at PG home games have robbed them of clearly and obvious penalties (handballs) that can been seen by the fans and replays.
VAR RIP Please

VAR: Football fans have created a monster

Totally agree, but fans need to support referees and linesman

VAR: Football fans have created a monster

All the other clubs should look to take on Victory’s most promising youngsters as they’re unlikely to get a chance at Victory next season.
Interesting to see if Popovics star power (ex EPL) will attract the quality players for a 3rd time.

Melbourne Victory appoint Tony Popovic as new head coach

Totally agree

European Super League falls apart as English clubs opt out

Don’t forget the real big money earners…….football agents.

European Super League falls apart as English clubs opt out

Not sure if anyone is aware but Perth Glory are also in the A league!!
Some cracking young talent at Perth Glory who have Champs league experience and have now had some chances since Popovic’s sons moved to Greece…now MV.
To name a couple Dan Stynes, D’Agostino, Josh Rawlins, Nick Sullivan, Armiento, Colli, R Warland, Timms, Bramwell, Ikonomidis (not sure on his age though) etc…

The best A-League players 26 and under

Good points

It's high time football started to stand up for itself

I’d say a far better role model than most Australian male sports stars. E.g. Steve Smith etc

It's high time football started to stand up for itself

Choose to watch?? Or no alternative…..how much football is on free to air compared to afl? I’ve never seen a positive news segment regards Perth Glory yet i compare that to the hourl West Coast and Dockers training updates on free to air tv…
I think you are pretty bias

It's high time football started to stand up for itself

Absolutely right. Crowds at Perth Glory are well down (and no it hasn’t been too hot – before anyone complains about the weather – again). Castro is on fire and just amazing to watch. I compare paying 15 quid to stand on the Kop and having to watch Julian Dicks start for Liverpool and now paying a similar amount to watch Castro…..Castro is far better entertainment and value for money. So my point is the A league can and does match the EPL for excitement and entertainment. I don’t get fans not coming to watch the Glory, they’re good value for money.

It's high time football started to stand up for itself

Thanks great to see some well thought out analysis of the mighty Western Force. I reckon we’ll show the ARU they know very little about rugby and growing the game this season. Watch out the Rebels.

Great article

The double standard of subcontinent pitch complaints

I rate Daniel Stynes (Perth Glory), given opportunities I reckon he’ll keep developing to be a superb player.

A-League and W-League: The positives on the pitch are starting to outweigh the problems off it

Talking of a racial issue ….Sky News Australia which has the same owners as FOXTEL and Fox News America…….why would anyone put a true multi-cultural sport on Foxtel with those sort of relatives?
