I was very disappointed with Behich in the last game resorting to tackling with his arms. He got away with a penalty on Kuol that would have been curtains for city but for the fav condition they enjoy ???. When a player has to turn to those sort of tactics to win duels his future is in the decline.

'One of the best fullbacks in Australia': Just how high is Jacob Farrell's ceiling?

Petrillo said that vidmar’s philosophy is more in line with the club direction they want to go. Rado was involved at all levels you would have thought that his values aligned with the clubs????? . Then you have the sudden loss of the change room……… which coincides with Jamison joining the coaching team obviously to do with defensive side of things…….. which is where it is all going wrong. My apologies if you think I care……… Petrillo needs to address the problem of the bloody seagull invasion in the second half of games????

First A-League coach axed after just two rounds: City give Vidosic his marching orders after six-goal shellacking

For me it is all about Corica’s body language on the sideline………. he doesn’t have any. Just stands there with his arms folded, occasionally attacking the officials. It seems he is not confident enough to yell instructions to the players. His passive behaviour is reflected in the team.

No shots fired: Corica stares down sack after another disaster as Sydney FC hand Vidmar dream start

I can’t say I am a fan of city. I tend to favour the more ‘fibro’ side of town living on the central coast. My only claim to fame is that I have watched every game of the a-league since it’s inception despite the woeful ‘pubtalk’ commentators. Even Kisnorbo had trouble keeping the side going for the full ninety minutes towards the end of his tenure and I would describe what he left Vidosic was a poisoned challis. It was evident that the cart was before the horse with city, Vidosic was not holding the reins……… the players were. As for Kisnorbo, his results in France are reflecting his true coaching standard. The teams city put on the field during his tenure were capable of playing international football teams around 70 down to 140 status.

We all thought that after Stajcic ……… and then again when we lost Rowles , Birrighitti and co. last season. This season the team is still chokers with talent and Monty is closing the gaps eg Alou , Theoharous and Wenzil-Halls still to make his mark………. but it’s all about the TEAM.

A-League champions keep making winning moves as Alou Kuol returns to the Mariners

Ange has dodged his ‘Achilles heel’ in the past but I fear he won’t be able to here in the EPL.
There are too many smart coaches that don’t share his philosophy of attacking football at any cost if it means a loss of competition points. Parking the bus against spurs will be the norm and games will develop into a lottery of one sided possession going nowhere.I can hear Ange now in post game interviews saying: we dominated them but just didn’t take our chances.

Big Ange's big break: Why Postecoglou is worthy of Tottenham 'hot seat'

His stats are very enticing and don’t tell the full story. Under-appreciated????? …………. or do they tell a lie. It would seem that they do as scouts who are paid large sums of money to spot talent don’t seem to like what he brings to the table. Some people, and I was one, are prolific scorers but don’t always perform up a level in class. You talk about him in superlatives but he is no Garang Kuol for example.

Jamie Maclaren has fought hard to become the best forward in A-League history

Our beautiful game is plagued by ratbags that use it as a vehicle to exercise their anti s’ocial behaviour. It is not hard to spot the cretins that have this agenda on their minds. They are wearing balaclavas, hoodies, scarves across their faces. Before trouble is evident they work themselves into a frenzy and are “flipping the bird” …….. with both hands in a sideways motion. Later when the trouble starts and the flares start getting lit and thrown you will find them with their faces covered and wearing black sunglasses. A simple before facial cover and after when the flares are lit will make the troublemakers transparent. So why are the security people so lax in their duty ????

Victory cop record fines and points sanction for violent pitch invasion but derby match to resume at 1-0

The World Cup result was a shock to a lot of people’s opinions…….. Arnold changed course after Peru and his normal game plans no where to be seen. He said he had a plan ……. which is consistent with the results. I am not sure how much “the plan” gets credit over the a-league players that applied it. I suspect that what we saw has been seen before, from a previous football teams squad wearing Man United colours. Having said that I believe Arnold would be better suited now to a job overseeing Socceroo squad players in general…….. moving up the ladder and leave the Socceroos to the current assistants. Win Win

Should Graham Arnold continue leading the Socceroos?

No……..not necessarily………..Glover is prone to as many mistakes as he makes brilliant saves. Happy to see him with the gloves. If I read all the reports correctly he escaped sanction by way of the referee’s not dealing with him in the first instance for handling the flare not according to protocol like the Vic keeper did.

'How he's playing I'll never know': Mariners coach flares up as Glover escapes ban, plays starring role

It seems that the real problem is that a lot of people have an opinion without knowing what the real situation is/was or what the conditions were with the incident.
For starters, the previously banned players were banned Victory supporters. Do we know that the security for a melb city home game are aware of those banned. We’re the banned people for all games controlled by a now different governing management ??.
Then you have the reason Glover wasn’t sanctioned for attending to the flairs as is the protocol the melb Vic keeper did, was because it was deemed Kings responsibility at the time. Glover still broke protocol by throwing the flares back at the throng………. With a smile I noticed.
Then you have the tolerant nature of fa and their security that favours so called atmosphere of choking smoke over people’s health and safety. I wonder how many asthma sufferers don’t attend games.
I don’t attend any live sport games because if I need to I can’t run, and being 76 years old I was brought up in an environment where respect was enjoyed by everybody. I cannot tolerate the way the $ is more important to allow the “yobbo hooligan” element of society to govern rules, but I have watched every a-league game played courtesy of fox and now paramount and enjoy watching the improvement of the actual skill levels of the players as displayed by the Socceroos at the World Cup. I would add that the game has progressed past the current crop of commentators, who seem to think that we want to listen to their histrionics, memories and private jokes that belong in a pub instead of trying to make the game exciting ……… the New Zealand commentators excluded from this criticism. Calling the game and advising of stat trends is what will make the public stand up and enjoy the technical aspects of our “boring” game. There was a rule put to the committee I was on to select a commentating team for the first nbl televised games by channel four in Wollongong. Never talk about or try and describe anything that is or was not televised that the audience saw. It still works for basketball and the nrl.

'How he's playing I'll never know': Mariners coach flares up as Glover escapes ban, plays starring role

I’m sorry……… it was during a heavy Covid season that only 22000 attended a two gf contestants relying on a heavy var participation in results. No problem getting sold out crowds for afl, nrl, tennis, horse racing and now I’m getting bored. I am not a Vic supporter I just thought the comment was worthy.

'Killed the A-League', 'treated with contempt': Fans' fury as Grand Finals sold to Sydney

You are forgetting last seasons var influence that remarkably ended with two Vic teams at the top of the tree.

'Killed the A-League', 'treated with contempt': Fans' fury as Grand Finals sold to Sydney

The first NBL failed after Sydney usurped the basketball administration away from Melbourne. Victoria is the sports capital of the Australia and possibly top three in the world …….. Sydney is two teams that do not relate to supporting Melbourne teams or even their states suburban clubs, whereas Melbourne will support a game of marbles even if it is raining. Bad move by the powerbrokers putting their personal power ambitions above the sport.

'Killed the A-League', 'treated with contempt': Fans' fury as Grand Finals sold to Sydney

You have part of the answer. Garang Kuol and Cummings have an understanding and Cummings is the master with Garang the apprentice. It was obvious Cummings and Kuol were paired in the sub together because Cummings sets Kuol off for most of his ccm forays he is renowned for……… being the dink over the defense and the chase. Cummings also feeds passes in such a way that the receiver’s first touch doesn’t kill the movement. However, you need to understand and look at players involvement without prejudice or favour to see. Cheers.

'Statistically absurd': Why doesn't Graham Arnold trust Jamie Maclaren?

Not a fan of your predictions mr Tuckerman………. There are glaring instances of shallow research. The bulls are full of players that have failed to last a season and coaches already have tactics in place to nullify them. Melb city’s problem is they are over coached. Frontline output is disgraceful but you only have to watch the pressure Kisnorbo puts on them from the sideline. To say Monty’s inexperienced is laughable……. He is a student of the game since his days in the epl and he understands TEAM …… both in the squad and the coaching staff. He has built a squad capable of being rotated to offset tactics from opposing coaches and he has coached his philosophy into the squad from academy through five years. The other team of note is the defensive team at western united under the watch of Hayden fox. Popovic has not had the same success since he split from Fox but has needed cash to buy keep his reputation. Western’s clean sheets last year were not by chance and winning games needs to start from the back. There are six players in the glory side and three in the coach and support staff with more experience than the coach…….. good luck with finding a recipe for that soup mix. Then you have Corica……… lost in trying to implement a plan A with no plan B just like Arnold …….. although Arnold did it successfully because he had a superior squad at the time. Corica has gone for old and slow, with his centrebacks being the most experienced and slowest, but nobody else wanted them, they are my pick for missing the finals.

A totally accurate prediction of where every A-League Men team will finish

What the hell !!!!!………
With what looks like the best and strongest squads ever …….. I think that tipping is going to rely on other factors than the cattle on the paddock. Champion team vs team of champions, coaching staff, var and the old results favouring the biggest draw cards for the finals. In the coaching dept I favour Monty, Ufuk and Aloisi (because he has Fox marshalling his defense). For champion teams I favour Ccm, Adelaide and western united. Coaches who appear to have only plan A …….. Corica, Zadcovic, Colosimo, Rudan.
Wunited over city
Roar over bulls
Mariners over Jets
Victory over bling
Phoenix over Adelaide
Wsw/ glory draw.
