You mean your comment where you agreed with RF, about how everything improves when Irvine comes on for Rogic?
How’s that worked out the last two games?

The Socceroos need to do more than just participate in the World Cup

Fair call Chris, as you say there are areas and the main one in this campaign has been the attack.
Have you noticed how we dither and dally around trying to get the ball lined up for our favourite foot, to get our body positioning for maximum impact…..all the while some defender or defenders are raining down on us.

The opponents we played over the last three games, especially the Peruvians last night, hit the ball first time in our goal area, no mucking about. Even the Argies did the same v. Nigeria.

No waiting, no lining it up or getting the boot laces just at the back of the ball……they just go for it, they smack it, they simply pulled the trigger and it showed.

Talking about stupidity, haven’t seen you bag Rogic this WC like you normally do, what’s going on?

The Socceroos need to do more than just participate in the World Cup

If we’re gonna talk about luck then surely it involves the officiating.
Sitting here watching this morning’s Nig v Arg game when Mascherano was booked and penalty awarded immediately when observed by the ref, as he wrapped his arms around a Nig player. No hesitation from the ref, even the commentator Martin Tyler comparing this incident to what Harry Kane apparently, constantly endured v Tunisia
And what did we see last night with the Peruvian No11 and his constant wrestling, bear hugging of Aussie players where the ref actually warned him about such on several occasions.
No penalty awarded, no yellow card…..nothing.
Bad luck or just hiss poor, inconsistent officiating?

The Socceroos need to do more than just participate in the World Cup

So let’s be fair now Cugel, when was the last time an Origin game kicked off at midnight like the Socceroos did v Peru?

The Socceroos need to do more than just participate in the World Cup

So were out again, no goals from play and with a coach who only had us for a few months.
After a nail biting year that 2017 was whilst under Ange, struggling to qualify and a poor goal record, I for one am so proud of how they all went about their business both on and off the field.

To go out last night from two goals where the first seemed to be another fumble from an official, we were simply not good enough. We knew this group would be hard to get out of but our boys gave it their all.
IMO we can walk away proud that at no time did any Socceroo flop to the ground when a hair fell out of place or feigned a broken ankle when a shirt was tugged, no we held our heads way above other so called professionals who chose to act like that to gain favour. Such highly ranked teams in this WC whom have acted as such are a disgrace to the game, sadly under this present FIFA board and officials, they are and will be allowed to continue with their displays of theatrics until someone finally says enough is enough.
I guess we can easily join the ranks of the ‘professional divers’, the play actors that are allowed to get away with it all, but we wont, simply because its not right. Its not how football used to be played ‘back in the day’ or how it should be played today, we wont compromise on our ability and determination to play the game fairly, because that’s not who we are, that’s not how we bring up our kids and that’s not what we expect from our footballers.

Hopefully what we have achieved here is set the foundations for a more improved Socceroos squad that will make an even bigger impact at the next WC, a squad still young enough here to make it to the next one.

Now bring on the A-League.

Tomic?

Did Bert van Marwijk's tactics cost the Socceroos a win against Denmark?

Not at all Perry, did not ‘dislike’ your opinion, no sir…..like I said, I had a chuckle.
And like you said, “it’s comical”.

Five talking points from Socceroos vs Denmark 2018 FIFA World Cup

Have worked my way down this list reading some excellent opinions……and then come to yours.

Thanks Perry, gave me quite a chuckle to say the least, now back to your waffles, lol.

Why should we have to pay for it?

Agree Craig, every game should be shown live on national TV, no Floptus no subscription no fee paying.

The World game is for the masses to enjoy.

Mbape with a shocking display simulating a massive push into his back, so bad it lifted him off the ground, LMFAO.

France vs Peru: 2018 FIFA World Cup highlights, scores, blog

It has, excellent and unpredictable to say the least, 3 all draw Spain/Portugal and Ronaldo’s amazing goal at the end, Le Frogs falling to the ground v Socceroos then admitting to it (Hernandez on 442 website) Mexico beating Germany, Maradona being accused of racism towards some Korean fans, Neymar’s hairstyle becoming a meme to some, lol…..the scuffle with the Serbian player at the touchline near the end of their game, Russia scoring 5 (in any game?), Messi fluffing the penalty and some US reporter on TV of accusing Switzerland of trying to kill Neymar……and now our very own PM getting involved in the crap (apparently) service from OPTUS to its customers? this WC has something for everyone, could probably make a mini-series out of it so far, lol.

makes me wish I’d subscribed to OPTUS to see every game………….ehhh nah, glad i didnt.

The good, the bad and the ugly of the World Cup so far

Laughable AG, just cause one gets “ankle tapped/clipped at full speed” doesn’t mean to say they’re going to go down, but in the penaly area? and being French? and in a WC game? “je comprends”

The good, the bad and the ugly of the World Cup so far

I try to make a point of not arguing with people that always know what they’re talking about……and you always know what ur talking about.

The good, the bad and the ugly of the World Cup so far

It was a dive, had no chance of getting to the ball after Risdon touched it and he knew it, he knew Ryan could scoop it up…..hence he dived inside the penalty area.
Flopped to the ground like his team mates had been doing for most of the game.
He quite simply carried on the same mantra of his team mates where this ref had shamefully failed in his duty to put a stop to the blatant French simulation from the get go.

The good, the bad and the ugly of the World Cup so far

“There’s a section of fans who want streaming to supplant traditional broadcasting methods”.
…….just like some who want a cashless society, and then there’s a power outage and their world begins to crumble?

Listened to enough on this site about the Optus dramas of the past to ward me off investing in their crap service, even if it is only $15 a month. Even had one of the other coaches ask Saturday how I watch the WC due to his Optus service being so bad.
Makes putting up with Lucy & Craig not so bad in the end.
As for the game the other night, the ref was a shocker. He was the one solely responsible for allowing the French to fester into the shameful display of cheating (simulation) and that should be highlighted, IMO way before any discrepancy regarding VAR.
If he had cautioned verbally or even booked one or two French in the 1st half for such, then Griezman and his theatrical display of having his leg chopped off may never have eventuated……Yeh right!

The good, the bad and the ugly of the World Cup so far

WTF Sheek?…..here you are watching men play football in this 2018 FIFA World Cup and all you can think about is getting back to see your mangirl?
Stick to yer AFL stud……should suit you more there, lmfao.

“Brave socceroos fall to France”?

The only thing that fell was pretty much every French player, especially Hernandez who will collapse in a heap at the mere sight of an uncut blade of grass in front if him.

Nothing short of a complete disgrace in seeing the most expensive team in this WC displaying such theatrical simulation.

So proud of our boys, so proud.

So proud of our boys in that 1st half, French puffs going down too easily, I reckon our Matilda’s could kick the #hit out if them.

Love how they’re booing Hernandez, he’s a sap.

Already is, just our luck to have a Uru ref with the history we have.

Dont know about it being arrogant, as you say. Reminded me of the goal Jedinak scored against Kyrgystan back in 2015 when Jedi took a free kick from roughly the same area & same distance out from goal where just like Arzani’s goal, the keeper didn’t see it till it was too late and also had to deal with a bounce right in front of him.
A goals a goal and it just shows how dangerous Arzani is when hes roaming around the outside of the 18 yard box, with his cheeky shots and deft touches. Think he was even responsible for a beautiful thru ball to Irvine for the 2nd as well.
As for the Hungary goal, if your gonna have to blame someone me thinks Jones fluffed it to be honest, don’t know what he was thinking running out of his area like that.

The Socceroos complete their World Cup preparations as Daniel Arzani shows us what we have all been waiting for

Well said Kangas, with you on that.
