Kangaroos should be playing a minimum of 3 games per year and if they are in Aus they should be played in the Stadiums that don’t get to host Origin or the GF (Canberra Stadium, Newcastle and Townsville). It’s a shame we don’t have a similar completion with NZ like the Bledisloe to get a fun rivalry going and make people care about IRL.

Should’ve been played the weekend that origin was on Sunday. Aus have plenty of great players that didn’t make origin. Could of had a full weekend of footy if the had men’s and women’s international along with the two origin games. Hope they fix this next year.

Couldn’t care less about the Olympics, used to be about under paid athletes coming together to to win a medal and now they have tennis/golf pros playing for publicity. Less is more and they should just stick to Athletics and any other non professional sport.

Well said, If we had International Games like we should have on rep round then he probably would’ve made the Kiwi team and made him ineligible being a tier one team. Problem solved.
QLD should’ve went with Will chambers for experience. it’s impossible to feel sorry for them.
They’re still 8 series ahead of NSW so the blues have a long journey to go for this kind of issue to actually matter. Go blues!

100% agree, Just have a Super Rugby AU and Aoteroa running concurrently then have both Premiership winners play off for Super Rugby championship. if they want to promote International Rugby maybe invite Japan and another island nation (Fiji, Tonga, Samoa) to create our own Six nations comp. Possibly more games and more wins for the Wallabies.

What are the chances the world cup could just be played in Aus/NZ again. at least they could have crowds and players can enjoy themselves for 6 weeks instead of being quarantined between games. (Also i don’t wanna have to wake up at 4 in the morning to watch my favourite sport)

Tassie has a population of 515,000 and trips to hobart are 2.5 hours or less. I’m sure if you put a Tassie team in Post COVID it should do well. even if everyone’s not a Tassie fan they’ll still wanna see the their favourite team play the home team. and Bulndstone arena is a great ground for kids so people will just go for something to do. The Hobart hurricanes and Tassie Jackjumpers (horrible name BTW are a good example that people will pay to see their team play.

More teams, Canberra, NZ, Geelong and QLD and a proper finals format two semi finals and a grand final. keep it simple.
How I’d Improve the BBL
Great Article, Including the crowd is a great idea, they could also do a catch of the week and catch of season for the crowd. Maybe a Year supply of KFC or Locker room access to their favourie team.
Bash Boost and Power Surge were good add-ons neveer became a fan of the X-factor. I didn’t mind the length of the season. it’s a summer sport so if it goes into Feb then that’s fine with me. Being a Canberra boy i’d love a team of our own. I try to see ACT meteor games when i can so a BBL team boys and girls would be great. Another QLD team and a NZ team would be great as well for the comp. Start games earlier and put it on 7mate and bugger off american pickers or whatever rubbish they have. Hope to see BBL grow and more games played at Manuka Oval
A bit of fan feedback on a fantastic Big Bash season
Maybe the World cup/T20I team should just be made up of the best AUS BBL players as reward for giving their best efforts through the season. would be great to see a Lynn/Maxwell partnership. and these guys would know how to bat or bowl against some of their foreign team mates.

It’s a great preseason weekend warm-up before the big dance and it also let us see more of the grils playing as well. The world cup was great. Had some team upsets and the USA scored a try against AUS which was surprising. Every Game has a baby version Rugby has Sevens, Netball has fast five and AFL has AFLX. They’re all a good appetiser before the actual season starts.
Nines as T20: Is it wise to bastardise rugby league?
Good article, Horrible way to finish the season. Covid has definitely helped the Raiders this year. No more Pom recruits for a while. Just need to invest in Juniors and some decent leaders to inspire the group. Could’ve been a different game with Kris, Savage and Croker playing. Once they get a decent Halfback the Raiders will make top status.
Jack Wighton flopped in 2021 and it's entirely on the heads of the Canberra Raiders
