no such thing as “reverse racism” – it’s racism pure and simple no matter what the skin colour of perpetrator or victim

A cricketing history of Zimbabwe: A lost opportunity

The ability to not pass/kick both sides is a cultural thing…:-)

All eyes on Gibson's first official hit-out as Waratahs coach

Though that little inaccuracy doesn’t diminish your point about the senior unions needing to support the club system….better value for spectators with a warm up match; not bad for the players to play at the big stadiums; potentially raising the interest in club rugby…I’m sure there’s more.

All eyes on Gibson's first official hit-out as Waratahs coach

Didn’t the English mutiny against their coaches in 2007, also?

Is Dusautoir the best captain for the fabulous French?

France winning the RWC in ’11 would have been awesome. The sporting world loves a hoodoo, such as the ABs v Ireland (as previously mentioned in this log), the US 132 year domination of the America cup – it makes for the non aligned supporters to have a closer interest, and brings untold joy to the supporters of those overturning the hoodoo.

The ‘what if’ moments of 2013

I think the fates evened out Kurtley’s miss with 1/2penny’s. In all things, balance, Grasshoppers.

The ‘what if’ moments of 2013

Not sure that Hughes has the technique, even after all the remedial work. I would like us to find a bloke in his early 20s – we’ve had some success with that formula over the last 120 years….

How the Aussies dominated this Ashes series on every level

Says it all. Thanks for clarifying.

An underdog win for Australia, and suddenly a series alive

I have just seen the new drop in pitch referred to as a ‘soporific road’, so that’s that dealt with.

An underdog win for Australia, and suddenly a series alive

There’s a bit of talk about Adelaide being a batsman’s paradise, though the old pitch is gone and the new drop in is an unknown quantity……without checking, has it been a road in the Shield so far????

I think if he was V-C material he would already be doing some of the things mentioned here, either by natural style, or with Clarke’s blessing. IMO, Haddin provides superior keeping skills to Wade which has seen him picked – he then takes up the V-C role as the experienced senior pro amongst the group.

Peter Siddle should be Australia's next vice captain

I think Starc is a must, as a left swinging the ball will be useful. Likewise I would include Pattinson, if only for a bit of mongrel. Lyon will get a run in my team as the spinner will also be essential. He will need to tie guys down though and help create pressure for the quicks at he other end. So in my mind it comes down to Harris or Siddle, and I’d go with Harris first up, with Siddle to play the next game. That’s all said without looking at the exact schedule of games, nor knowing the long term weather forecast. A dry English summer will see Siddle lift in my ratings, and a wet one makes Harris and Starc absolute essentials.

Leave Peter Siddle out of the first Ashes Test

BB could do with a few weeks in Subbies, where the first guy to kick buys a jug – would love to see his face showing how much he enjoys playing again (in reference to a few comments here that he looks like he’s in physical pain.
