Based on the repeated mistakes that Rennie could not seem to address, I was not against him being replaced.
However, and this actually has surprised me, the wallabies seem far worse under Jones and his patchwork of coaches. They have simply not improved at all since the close loss to Argentina in Sydney. Considering the available talent, that’s inexcusable.
It looks like Eddie has treated this like an experiment with no consequences and the RA board have apparently allowed him to think that would be ok.
The fans and the players themselves deserve more than that.

'Complete dismantling': Eddie apologises for World Cup debacle, Hoops calls out moment that summed it up

If White goes the slow, could be trouble. The team has been gaining cohesion at pace. I can imagine centres having to apply the brakes and and the team stagnating a bit. That would not be good. Cohesion needed against a good team.

Wallabies set to back veteran halfback for crunch Fiji World Cup clash, gun fullback misses selection again

I’m worried that the Suli preference over Kellaway on the bench is going to come back to haunt us. Against a stronger Fiji team it will not take too many defensive lapses to cause an upset. If you want to see Suli play, start him against Portugal. Put Kellaway back in the team for Fiji and Wales, even if it’s from the bench. PLEASE!

Still not convinced on Suli. He can definitely finish well and seems to have a sense for laying the ball back when tackled. Don’t think his defensive reads are great but he’s not the only one like that in our back line. Against a top team I’d be more confident with Kellaway as a sub if he’s not starting. However I think Eddie wants to back himself and his decision to bring Suli into the team. I’d play Kellaway against Fiji and Wales. Suli against Portugal. Give Suli another chance to prove he’s up to it and get some game time in case we need him later because of injury.

'Not sure what Waratahs didn't see in him': Jones at a loss over Donno as Wallaby says coach's faith 'meant the world'

2 things.
1. If they think White’s slow service could fit against Fiji they need to train for it. After White came on against Georgia the team looked unsettled. They were used to the quick play that doesn’t allow time for indecision. Didn’t like the effect he had on the team.
2. The out wide defensive structure we’ve seen over recent games can kill us against better teams. Too many times we’re one or none against two attackers. Can’t tell if it’s the structure or the communication but it will cost us if not fixed. (Another reason I would have Suli on the bench at most. If Donaldson plays I agree with Kellaway on the bench. He’s already shown to be a good wing. And if he was needed in the centres would be far better than Suli.)

Five things we learned: 'F--king do your job' - Moment Skelton proved Eddie right, Wallabies' rivals put on show

No, Suli does not. His away from the ball effort and awareness are not to test standard. That makes him a liability defensively even if it’s not always as obvious as missing tackles.

'We've got a few out': Slipper set to miss RWC opener as Eddie opens up on 'fascinating experiment' campaign

I wrote something about this in a comment on one of the other articles.

I’m not sure Vunivalu has the total game awareness and full effort away from the ball that we need from a starter at this level. He’s good with the ball no doubt.

That along with poor reads by Petaia makes us very vulnerable to a quick, skilled, creative team. (This could also be an issue with the defensive coaching.)

'Couldn't blow out a candle': Vunivalu vindicates Eddie's huge call as ex-NRL star finally delivers for Wallabies

I have not seen the recording of the game yet, so this comment is probably unfair. I should add that I have nothing against Vunivalu. It is great that he is starting to show more at test level. But here goes.

On a highlights reel, just before France’s last or second last try, the French were setting up to attack from a ruck. In the seconds before they went down the (right) blind side, it looks like Vunivalu (I think it is him) is jogging toward the other side with his back to the ball. I don’t understand how any player could be doing that. He would not have been able to stop the try that occurred, but he was definitely not ready for a surge back to the middle. And he could not have provided any support for the other outside backs. I don’t think that is laziness. But it does look like lack of awareness and total effort. Probably runs hard when called for but may not be the complete player we need at this level. That would make him more of a sub than a starter.

Depends on how well Jorgensen has recovered. Another week may be what the doctor ordered.

Most of us have heard that before.

Particularly if Kellaway is nursing soreness. We need him to be fit. Important at 15 or on the bench.

Well he’s there now, he’s seems a likeable guy, and clearly he’s an offensive threat. We may as well support him and hope Eddie’s right. If he is going to get any time in a big game, for whatever reason, I hope he’s had some time in a lesser game to show he’s ready defensively.

Doubts of a Wallaby: The maligned cross-code star who fought through tears to make Eddie's RWC campaign

Yes. Commas have replaced full stops and semis for many people. There’s a time and a place; and that wasn’t it. Parliamentary enquiry, anyone?

There are multiple problems with your comment, but first of all I’m not sure why you think Farrel is not a dirty player. He has history that is easy to see.
Secondly, the ‘it’s history’ comment does not address the concerns of precedent, inconsistency, fairness and player welfare.
There almost certainly be decisions in the WC that affect results and that are inconsistent with this decision.
When a decision goes against you in the game, you need to move on. But this is not that.

'Mockery', 'broken game', 'laughing stock': Rugby rages as red card reversal clears Owen Farrell for World Cup

It was a shoulder charge – no arms.

It was high and caused concussion.

The player has form (and apparently no compunction, though that couldn’t affect the decision)

The precedent has been set but it will not be followed. Other players will be struck for the same in the WC. And they and their countries will be understandably furious.

This isn’t cheating but it is stupid to have a system that allows such patently obvious and dangerous inconsistency.

Good luck. You’re going to need it.

There’s not much doubt that for the most part Australia has not played particularly well. And there have definitely been periods during which the Poms played better and with more confidence.

But for all that we are still in a position where we could win the ashes not just retain them, even if that seems unlikely in the circumstances. If a team is playing below their best, they have to do what they can. In this case, it’s not pretty.

But maybe the English commentators can reserve their sanctimonious reprobation for their own team. ‘We was robbed’ by the weather, the cheats, the umpires… A bit of that blather is understandable. After that it becomes tedious, petulant and unsporting. But it must be in the spirit of cricket or they wouldn’t do it, would they?

'Cardinal sins' the Wallabies have highlighted they must fix to stand a chance in Bledisloe Cup

We’re sad.

So much hope and expectation dashed in the first 2 games.

I want to bring back some hope. If Eddie can get his shit together, and if we can have some reasonable luck on the injury front (2 big if’s)…

We have the makings of a very good team. Depth is an issue in some positions. But in the backs and the forwards there are some very good players. I won’t go though the list, but I will highlight a couple of plays that are examples of what I mean. Angus Bell reminding us of his capability and passion with ball in hand toward the end of the Pumas game. And Mark N taking them on with his quick tap and his maintaining possession while the rest of the team caught up.

We’re sad, but I haven’t given up hope. Pick up your game Eddie. Make us proud again.

The two-week observation: The Wallabies can play low possession rugby OR find the Australian way – but not both

One of SA’s best over the ball is Malcolm Marx. If he were still up to it we would benefit from having Tolu Latu at the breakdown, or players like him who relish the pilfer, no matter the number on their back. It seem that some players have that instinct and courage. And some don’t. Even some wingers/backs, like Koroibete. You don’t want your best backs constantly putting their heads/necks in harm’s way, but you do need more of the team to have the instinct to do so in the right circumstances.

You’ve given me the best laugh of the day do far. (Not meaning to be mean. I can understand your question if you’re not from the Sydney private school circle. But funny nevertheless.)

One thing that was obvious watching the game live was that Nawa helped shore up the middle defence when we were down to 14 players. Missed a tackle late that was actually a result of poor defence in the line. He showed more in defence than I remember him showing in previous games.

Studs and duds: Carter's 'brave' step up, Cheik hails 'bloody handful' as Marky nails WC spot, Wright gets it wrong

Agree that the pumas were good. However I have to say that it was concerning how many meters they made prior to contact in the 12-13 channel. Opposing coaches would have noticed that. Defensive structure or passive play?

Studs and duds: Carter's 'brave' step up, Cheik hails 'bloody handful' as Marky nails WC spot, Wright gets it wrong

Three things of note that led to the loss.
1. Interesting that I’ve yet to see anyone mention QC’s kicking away possession when we had the lead and the ball in the middle of the field. Still don’t have any idea what the purpose of that kick was.
2. Wright knocking the ball on looking like he was trying to be heroic with a scamper down the touchline. First priority in that situation is safe possession, not heroics.
3. Penalties repeatedly cost us field position and gave the pumas opportunity.
The pumas played pretty well but we made it easier for them too many times.
